Eric Engels: Appears very likely that Alex Galchenyuk gets traded. There is a good possibility that they will get a defenseman in return.
Bob McKenzie: Think that after the Drouin trade it’s more likely that Galchenyuk gets traded.
The Canadiens will look at playing Drouin at center.
Would anyone be shocked if JB traded Tanev for Gally |

We could make a deal with Vegas first. Trade a 4th or 3rd to ensure they select Sbisa. Then trade for Brodin or Dumba. - Retinalz
a 3rd or 4th round pick isn't worth protecting Sbisa/Gaunce. I would rather take the "hit" and let them take Sbisa then lose a 3rd or a 4th. Sbisa gone is almost addition by subtraction with his cap hit. |

They all are, and many make sense. So does ours, just the player we pick doesn't. |

Why wouldn't the team we trade Tanev to just trade for Dumba instead? - Retinalz
Because they don't want an offensive dman, they want a defensive minded guys who's good at his job, as in Tanev. Dallas was second worst in GA in the league, only Colorado was worse. |

That's not what i said, if you read it i stated to use the 4th or 3rd to ENSURE they select Sbisa. THEN trade for Brodin/Dumba. This way it doesn't matter what our protection looks like.
As it stands, if we trade for Dumba, then we are forced to expose Guddy. OR trade Tanev for a lesser value. |

my apologies, but at the same time, you are essentially paying a 3rd round pick to protect an RFA in Gaunce. I am not so sure I would do that either. |

No we are paying a 3rd to protect Guddy or be able to trade Tanev for full value. or protect Granlund. |

That doesn't fit in for my fantasy. Also, some teams may already have their offensive defenseman and need what Tanev supplies...defense. |

We acquire 3OA to get Casey? LOL that would be either Glass or Vilardi 100% - Retinalz
I thought it was a little crazy, but maybe not with JB If you want Casey wait for him, like is Col really picking him 3rd, don't they need Dmen? |

Not if we trade for Dumba. we then either need to expose Guddy, trade Tanev(just like Dumba situation we will get less) or do 4-4-1 and expose Granlund/Sutter/Baerschi. They would take Granlund. |

I thought that the Oilers would be putting a lot of stock in Fleury then and hey we'd see Lack play the Canucks for a season, |

Galch-Bo-Boeser would be a good line for us. I could see a lot of goals from that line. |

Sounds like NHL pa voted 2.5% escalator, cap could be 75 million. As per John Shannon hockeycentral |

Gal has skill, no doubt, but does he have the attitude and confidence to be on the #1 line? Just doubt for a sure thing we have in Tanev, would rather see what else is there. |

Wonder what the escrow percentage will be for the players next season, since they have mightily complained about it. Not sure they really understand it. |

I think he would if he were playing with guys close to his age in a less ridiculous media/fan situation than Montreal.
I wouldn't trade for him though. |

It is definitely a confusing system. Sounds like they have been discussing it with the players quite a bit lately. |

Galchenyuk arguably should have been (hindsight 20/20) the number 1 overall pick in the 2012 NHL draft. He leads that draft class in points (Filip Forsberg is close behind). Galchenyuk is a hell of a player. |

We have enough softies on this team, I would rather have a large dominating center. |

Draft him. Put Galch to Bo's wing. That line could help usher in the new core while being in their prime when the new core is ready to compete. |

Meh, if you take a look at the top 20 scoring forwards in the league, none of them are overall "tough". Galchenyuk has also played the most games in his draft class, so I am not super concerned about him being soft. If its between Tanev and Galchenyuk or Tanev and a mid 1st rounder, I would take Galchenyuk any day |
