Sounds like Chicago is really interested in unloading cap space. If they made that trade, it would be clear they were ready to sort of start over.

Lehner wants to go to Florida?
That's weird
Oh well... cya

He doesn't have much choice though
He's RFA, and doesn't have any kind of no trade clause

I think he's stuck wherever for 2 more years

That figures! Do you think we make a deal before 3pm tomorrow, or will this be more of a draft/post July 1 thing?

The worst mosquitos I've ever encountered are on French River nearish Sudbury. Literal clouds of them. You can't even open your mouth. I have a picture of the cabin window at night somewhere. It's just covered with bugs.

Send Lehner to Florida. Boom, problem solved. All kidding aside, signs are pointing to Lehner going bye bye before Expansion Draft. They now meet exposure requirement of exposing a goalie currently under contract (or an RFA immediately following 17/18) by signing Ullmark. Has to be the reason they signed him when they did. Drouin off the market moves Kane towards the top of the most coveted trade targets for wingers. Fasten your seatbelts Bills fans. Tomorrow the levee breaks. Hopefully something big happens

Ryan Shazier on the Patriots: “They’ve been a great team; they have a great leader; and they just find a way to win,” Shazier said. “They have a good strategy in what they want to do. But I feel we are going to be prepared for them this year. I feel we are going to get them when we need to get them. And at any day, I feel we can win the Super Bowl. We might have had a problem in the past, but I think we are going to be ready this time.”

Sounds almost like the Bills, well except for the SB bit.

I'm sure it was, but they also could've done it because they had to and they made a move to send Vegas a pick not to pick Ullmark and hopefully pick Bogo or Moulson.

Wait a minute, Lehner is an RFA too. They had to get one of them signed to meet exposure requirements.

They didn't have to sign either one. They were both RFA, that meets the requirements

I'm guessing the NHL did it on purpose as QOs don't HAVE to be in until before 7/1, so they didn't force teams that didn't want to lose RFAs to potentially lose them because they were re-signed or qualified.

Obviously teams like the Caps qualified Grubauer so they could expose him. Although they could've just signed some schmuck that's been in the league a while. What's Michael Leighton up to? I'm sure he'd sign a deal to get a couple bucks.

Not quite. At least one of them would've needed to receive at least a qualifying offer before Sabres submitted list.
