Crazy I still see the hate for the Kane trade on here. Way I see it was it was a total wash. No harm to us.

Bogo (when healthy) = Myers
You can argue that myers is more consistent and bogo gets hurt more but really be honest with yourself. If myers was on this team over bogo last year how many more games do we win? 1, 2, any? They are both a #4 on a bad team, a 5-6 probably on a winning team.

Kane > Stafford, Armia, Lemiuex

What have Stafford, armia or lemiuex done? Nothing. Does anyone not think we can get that value in return right now for Kane? Would anyone trade Kane back for those scrubs?

Vancouver would of gave us Vrbata (Stafford)/ shinkarek (armia)/2nd rd pick (lemiuex) when they had those players in a heartbeat. No one would of been happy with that return. That's what we gave up to get him. I'm not a huge fan of his but he is what we clamored for years to get. A PF who wouldn't get bullied.

Now the one part that's missing is the 1st rd pick we gave up. Yes we will never recoup that value. But I am fine with it. Essentially the trade secured last place for us getting Eichel instead of Strome. Plus we had Kane for 3 years. That is worth a late 1st rd pick who might turn into nothing.

All that said, if we can get a 2nd line D pairing for him pull the trigger. Can only pay so many wingers. Young guys need to step up.

honestly i dont disagree with any of this but when you move that much you should be getting at least one core player back.

I dont care how good he was in december, kane isnt that and bogo defenitely isnt that.

ROR trade was a lot, his contract was a lot and i didnt want the trade at the time but it brought us a core piece. you can live with those kinds of trades.
