If anything, Vegas will take Carrier. No way they pick Ullmark with the likes of Mrazek and Fleury out there, they have plenty of goaltender options available to them. - Tsyolin
Not that don't have to clear waivers & be their AHL goalie |

Can someone clarify for me? I though all players picked by vegas could not be traded until next year, so that would mean they couldnt work out side deals with others teams to select certain players that the before mentioned team could trade for. - Sabres1523
Your post is kind of confusing, but I'll try to assist
Anyone Vegas picks can be traded right away to anywhere BUT the team Vegas had just selected them from
As far as side deals go...
(Using Buffalo as an example)
Say we don't want them to choose Ullmark
The way it works it that we could offer them a pick or another player in addition to choose someone else
If that someone is decent, like Carrier, maybe they'd agree to something like a 4th round pick
If it's a bad contract like Moulson, maybe we give them a 2nd or 1st
All the deals Vegas is making must be worked out by Wednesday
If there's no deal made,
they simply take a player who's unprotected & that's that
Once the team is announced Wednesday,
Vegas will have a minimum of 30 players (1 from each team)
In some cases, they will end up with more than 1 player from a team bc of a deal worked out
Example: supposedly Chicago left VanRiemsdyk unprotected with the agreement that Vegas would select him, but also take Kruger off their hands
Plus Vegas has a couple players they signed from overseas
Since they'll have many more players than allowed on their NHL roster,
they need to make some moves
Some players will be sent to the AHL...
some like Ullmark wouldn't have to clear waivers, so no biggie
But if they took (example) Subban from Boston, he would have to clear waivers in order to be sent down
Since he'd likely get scooped up, they'd probably trade him rather than just lose him for nothing
So expect Vegas to be making trades even after their team is announced
Hope this helped

1C- Shipachyov
2C- Nelson
3C- Marchessault
4C- Burmistrov
Also- Shinkaruk, Dano, Gaunce
I only listed the player I chose differently than you
Didn't list the ones I agreed with - jdfitz77
I'd rather go safe and take as many good centers as possible. Lehtera and Eakin (and Sissons who I forgot, I think he may turn into a good one) up the middle will give a ton of depth.
Also Marchessault, Shinkaruk and Dano are only really centers on paper
edit: and Gaunce played a lot of wing this past year |

I could see them taking Lehtera over Perron...
and Eakin is a possibility as well, but I chose as many defensemen as possible
(Better trade bait)
Also not on my list though, is Kruger from Chicago
There's supposedly a deal that is worked out for him to go there
So still...
Shipachyov
Nelson
Kruger
Burmistrov
Those young guys u listed could at least fill in at center if there's injuries
Aberg has way more upside than Scissons imo
I think Vegas would be crazy not to choose him
I'm sure there's tons of deals worked out though
It'll be interesting to see the reveal Wednesday night
Hopefully Vegas has extra defensemen that would be worth our while to trade for... we still have to bring in at least 1 top4 guy imo
Preferably 2 still though
I'm hopeful for Beaulieu...
but after last season, he's a bit of an unknown |

I'd go with Plekanec for a year. - Wetbandit1
If they take Plekanec, the Habs better be giving them a sweet deal
They've got better 3rd line options to choose from
Kruger, Lehtera, etc
Imo, Vegas would be crazy to select anyone other than Hudon
He's 22, & been ripping it up in the AHL for them the past few years
Very promising winger |

Don't see Vegas taking many over the age of 25 so Hudon makes sense ... though they do need to take a few vets to reach the cap floor somehow ... if they took Emelin Mtl's D is depleted which helps us too and they can flip him at the trade deadline |

Vegas can hold 50% of Plekanec's celery at the TDL. Plus with cap room accumulating throughout the season that would be a good deal for a contender. Plus they need a good center and there aren't very many out there. None at all I would say. He's probably the best one out there. Eric Staal I guess, but unless Minnesota has a deal in place not to take a defenseman I'm taking Scandella or Dumba over Emelin.
We're really no further than we were before the rosters came out because of the moves that have been/will be made to protect more players. |

That's not my debate. My debate is Plekanec instead of Emelin. Because Vegas needs a good center, and he may have had a bad year, but he's still a better pick because I'd rather have a defenseman from Minnesota than Montreal. But it's irrelevant because we don't know who is actually protected and who isn't. And we won't know everyone until after expansion. There are moving parts within moving parts here, it's not just one player over the other.

I have central air, but it barely cools my bedroom, and leaves the rest of my apartment icy. You think it would just be more efficient to put my window AC in my bedroom and just run that?
I feel like it's probably costing me a fortune in electric cooling everything else, and it's not even cooling the areas I want |

But we don't know the moves that say "don't take this person, take that one.". So sure, Vatanen and Manson are both "available" but maybe Anaheim is sending Vegas their 1st so that Vegas takes Logan Shaw instead. Dummy. |

Probably.
But since we know what a dummy you are, are the vents in your room actually open? You could also try closing a few in other areas so that more air goes to your bedroom. |

The only reported teams to have made deals that I know of are CBJ, CHI, and ANA, but Anaheim's was a lot more vague |

Those are the leaked ones. We don't know who made moves. The Sabres are rumored to have made a move too. |
