I knew you would say that, I just can't imagine us being worse.
I think we will be picking anwyehere from 8th to 20th, depending on trade/FA - sbroads24
they dont necessarily have to be worse. I mean yes id love dahlin, but the whole D class in general is shaping up to be great.
8th pick next year>>>8th pick this year as far as defencemen go.
If they play this right they can
a) make this team more exciting
b) still draft a game changer somewhere in the top 10. |

I think you may have missed his earlier post, which has the rest of the deal: Sabres trade 2018 First + Moulson to Vegas for Dumba. - JetpackJesus
Ahh - no brainer to do this trade, though I don't think our first is enough to get Dumba and dump moulsen. Dumba or one of the two ANA dmen would be ideal |

I know, but still you pay that much you're going to want them to play all the minutes. Maybe like when Boston was good it was Chara or Seidenberg on the ice for like 50 minutes. - Wetbandit1
i mean, they can still play very important roles on different pairs. |

So?
He's 5'9 & isn't much of a goal scorer (only 18)
How do u think that's gonna transfer as he moves up the ranks against tougher & tougher talent?
Most likely, not well
For comparison sake...
Zemgus scored at a pace of 25goals in his draft season
And he's bigger
And still can't score at this level
It's not like he is a tiny guy who's ripping it up like Gaudreau was (36goals) - jdfitz77
If he's got wheels, he's got a chance. St Louis, Ennis, Hell even Gerbe was a solid player for a while, Paul Kariya is another, Theo Fleury...

Yeah, I talked myself into it in that comment. And because the third pairing isn't great they'd only get maybe 10 minutes a game anyway. Which is a win. |

All great goal scorers at a young age
This guy is not
It's evidence that he isn't really that talented
How many thousands of guys his size get drafted & don't make it? |

in fairness, i was looking into his stats a little further and thought he was killing it 5v5 too so i was going to use that as my primary argument.
still, the numbers look good, if they dont like anyone from europe at 6th or 7th round id take a chance on him |

Some kid ranked 183rd skater who will never sniff the NHL
http://www.eliteprospects.../player.php?player=272232 - jdfitz77
just like we're gunna land two top 4 d-man cause of expansion right? i get it his size and goal scoring rate are low and you're probably right but without having seen him play college yet hardly think we can make a definitive statement. hes obviously capable of putting up points so hes got some sort of shot. |

It's a lotto ticket, so ok I guess...
But usually for an undersized guy like that to succeed,
he's gotta be super talented
That's usually shown by the amount of goals scored
Idk much about him
But he doesn't seem like the type of guy that'll ever be much |

I never said we were going to
I said that's what we needed
The kid is a crap prospect
That's why he's ranked 183rd
U like him? Fine...
I'll look forward to your "I told u so"
Just not gonna hold my breath |

did we not have this discussion where you basically told me the number of sellers was so much higher that wed be able to find two guys?
im not saying hes going to be a star or anything. im just saying these are guys that get passed over and are worth looking into as lotto tickets like you said in the late rounds. obviously wouldnt reach for him or anything |

Well NO ONE thought that Vegas was gonna make deals with everyone & there'd be zero trades
Did u think that?
I hear on this kid
But from the looks of it, he doesn't seem to be a guy who will make it
Just my opinion |

no i just figured that two top four guys in one off season (expansion or not) seemed unrealistic. didnt think vegas would make this many side deals but i didnt figure expansion would bring the price down either.
Thats fine i get it i just think the numbers are impressive, his freshman year in the NCAA will tell a lot more. |

on a more realistic note, how about this guy?
http://www.eliteprospects.../player.php?player=201660
very good 5v5 numbers. Playoffs were weak, hopefully it pushes him down the rankings a bit, could turn into a steal. - Sabresfan-365
Depends where we'd pick him,
but he seems like a decent prospect from what I've read |

I dream about having a revolving door of quality d-men like Anaheim. Getting guys like him beyond the 2nd round is probably the way to do it |
