I used to get pizza a few times a week, now maybe a few times a year

Call me crazy but I think that guys like Josi, Ellis, Ekholm, and Y. Webber played above their levels in NSH due to Housley's coaching and system.

Tire fire or not... I want to see what Bogosian does in his system before casting him out. He has the skill set and size.

I mean that is a fine point it is. They did roll 3 lines. But their 3 lines were a lot more evenly talented then our 3 lines would be. We don't have a Crosby and Malkin to elevate the others around them that much more.

Zemgus - Sam - Moulson

Maybe sub in Bailey, Baptiste, Carrier, Larsson, Ennis, CJ Smith, Foligno and it is no where near what they have on those 3 lines.

By next year,
Nylander, Bailey & Baptiste should all be able to fill in those spots
Maybe Fasching as well

Is there any reason why those guys can't be the equivalent to Sheary, Rust, Guentzel, etc?

Can Ennis bounce back? Can Bailey score on line2?
Can we trade for, or sign a UFA forward?

if Ennis is toast, Nylander or move up Baptiste
If Bailey can't score, can he at least be solid on that line? I'd say so
Fasching &/or Rodrigues could come into play as well

These would be my rankings for the Sabres big board... Obviously a few on the top won't be there..

I'd also put good money on Glass, Rassmusen and hopefully Mittelstat gone. Heiskanen is a wild card but he'll likely be gone too.

That would leave us with

Liljergen, Tippet or two other defenceman VAAKANAINEN out of Finland or VALIMAKI.

And while I can't help but see the similarities in Grigorneko. Highly touted prospect early in year, gets sick then looks sluggish afterwards I'd hope we take Liljrgen over Tippett or any other defenceman

We really need defense in our system though
So if we take Tippet,
we better spend our 2nds & 3rd on defense

Probably should draft a goalie in there too though if we lose Petersen

At number 8 I'm trading up, picking the highest rated player on my board, or trading down... Reaching for a need at 8 is a huge mistake IMHO.
