Ducks sent
Clayton Stoner (cap dump)
Shea Theodore
Maybe a draft pick
Shea is a great pickup for Vegas. (that's 2 D I would consider, Shea and Tuch) - Lilroot9

if they seriously want to extend Kane this offseason, i'm ok with it at a reasonable number. I have to see one of Moulson, Bogo, or Gorges leave this offseason to see them making a big splash. - Acup2buff
They don't, and won't.
If anything he stays and they talk extension after he has another productive year.

This whole thing will give us a window into Botterill. He's supposed to be a cap guy, and this is a prime opportunity to showcase that. If he hands over Carrier without addressing a bloated contract, he's going to get some amount of flack. |

how? you think a fringe fourth liner is enough to convince a team to take one of the worst contracts in the nhl? |

I said yesterday that Kane wants to stay and they are looking to meet in July with him to gauge interest from both sides. - SABRES 89
Plus, if GMJB trades Kane and he has a career year somewhere else, we get a Kulikov type situation back, who is the new a$$hole in town? |

As would most on here, I'd love us to make a splash...but I'm not expecting anything.
Most teams seem to have better/more assets to move to attain the players we would be after. (i.e. MIN able to move Tuch vs BUF moving Ennis).
Friedman mentioned Kane trade talks cooling...which indicated 89 is right, he wants to stay. I happen to think that's a good thing. I think next year is when we start to really compete. We need to fix the left side of the D and secure another top 6 wing (Kane, Sam, Okposo).

No, he's definitely have to give up more. I gave my example of a Moulson deal yesterday that seemed to be too much for to give up for most people here, but I think to be successful in the expansion draft, we have to get something we want rather than merely survive by giving up Carrier |

i think they managed to get someone with some upside thanks to expansion(beaulieu)
probably just try and shelter bogo see if that ups his value and move him in season. gorges just gotta wait it out. Maybe buyout moulson next year. |

I hope they trade him or extend him Friday so the conversation ends.
It just amazes me after everything that came out with Minnesota last year that anyone can say we weren't interested in moving him |

Ennis and 2018 second to LV for Theodore. BOOM.
Vegas has already explained that will take more defenders than they need and use those assets as currency to round out the roster. - Der Kaiser
If Vegas wanted Ennis he would be exposed right now. |
|
|
|
With everything we know about Vegas right now I feel we could've easily protected Carrier and left Ennis unprotected. I don't think they would've taken Ullmark given their GMs comments. Doing so likely would've forced them to take one of our bigger contracts now we hand Carrier on a silver platter to them. Kind of aggravates me. |

So, you would have rather had him protect carrier, expose Ennis and thus lose Ullmark?? |

True on Beaulieu. Starting the year with Moulson, Bogo and Gorges on opening night means no playoffs imo. It's the same way I felt about Ellis. If Ellis is on your opening night roster, you're not a playoff team. If 2 out of the 3 I mentioned start the year, we're not a playoff team |

i trust our guys' stuff. I think JB wouldnt be doing his job if he didnt at least engage in dialogue and see what the number is.
The offers for him have obviously been very bad. If they can get him extended at a decent number they'd probably prefer that to getting a 2nd and a 3rd or something.
But i dont think they will. Hes a cap guy and i bet the idea of giving out another long term deal to a forward while the D is still broken makes him nervous. |
