Last night on the NHL network, the guys were picking there expansion players and all of them picked Ullmark in there draft, now it was a mock but all of them picked him. I like Carrier but we need Ullmark.

You would draw the line 1 year less and only $250K per? Why? 5 years only takes him to 32.
- Pierceme69

because if he tanks after signing the contract like he did with his last big deal it'll be easier to move him.

I draw the salary line at 5.75 cause i dont think he should make the same amount as okposo

Yes. I don't think Ullmark is that good and there are better goalies out there for Vegas to take. Fleury, Rantaa, Grubby.

If I'm the Sabres I make a call on Grubby and Rantaa. Not sure what the cost will be but they're more sound that Lehner, and I am a Lehner advocate.

Malcolm Subban too for a prospect, although he has to play in the NHL next year

Unless Peterson is more inclined to sign with BUF if Ullmark is gone.

The sabres did just retain their goalie coach whom is very close with Peterson......

Losing Ullmark and signing Peterson would only require sign a backup for the Sabres...Nillson?

but one of the toughest to win a championship. I thought that was the goal
- Sabresfan-365

No. That was the goal. Now we clearly need to just get into the playoffs and get the guys we tanked for some necessary playoff experience. Eichel basically demanded playoffs this year. If i were him I wouldn't sign an extension until I saw how this season played out. We have the second longest playoff drought in the league that's (frank)ing pathetic! You can still try and be a champion but also make the playoffs and that's what we better do.

Money and contract is way off as of now, they have to meet first and get the groundwork laid out and go from there. A lot can happen between now and then.

Hard to say I guess, doesn't sound much like Peterson wants to play here. Maybe he's just a quite guy and is looking at his options.

i would think he goes the Vesey route and chooses his destination when the time comes.

Don't assume this. I'm guessing the 2 gm's talked and he had to expose Carrier to avoid losing Ullmark. The front office is pretty tight-lipped these days (we knew nothing about the "Booya" trade til it happened. For all we know we may have a trade in place. Dreaming, but.....

Theodore + Neal

for

Reinhart + Moulsen + Gorges + both of our 2nds.

- turbo044

you would be hung up on by George McPhee.

Theodore + Neal

would cost

Reinhart + Bailey + Moulson + both of our 2nds if not more than that

I can't see Kane signing anywhere until the off season. He's likely betting on himself to produce and cash in. Unfortunately we're in a conundrum with him.

A. Trade him now and get MAX value for him but also become screwed in scoring depth. Or....
B. See how the season goes if we're in contention you keep him and risk him walk or if you're not you trade him and hope he put up enough numbers to warrant at least a somewhat decent return.

Seems like the worst kept secret is that (frank)er will end up in Chicago. Hopefully by the time he plays in the NHL they're past their prime so he can't reap the benefits.

No, my deal idea is:

Moulson
Carrier
Peterson's rights
2017 WSH 3rd
2018 Sabres 3d

For

Lee Stempniak or equal

No you'd be hung up on by Botterill

Reinhart for Hanifin straight up is pretty much the only fair trade I can think of for him.

Pretty much.

It makes 0 sense to extend someone like Kane a year before their deal expires.

Fair reaction. I was looking for a player with 1 year left on the deal because we'd have to take at least one contract. He's from here, so that's the name i came up with.

YMMV
