I've seen enough of Guile to know he's considerably better than Gorges. Beaulieu had more points than Franson. Antipin is the wildcard, but it wouldn't be hard to have a better season than Kuli. - jcragcrumple
There is going to be a lot of finding their way and inexperience in the NHL with Antipin and maybe Guhle if and when he plays in Buffalo this year. I'd like to see how Beaulieu plays in his own end before I crown him a regular top 4. |

remember how good mike weber looked his first few games as a sabre - homiedclown
Not specifically, but Guhle has the speed for the modern NHL. Weber was an artifact of a different time before he even played his first game |

weber was the thunder
sekera was the lightning
the guhle hype is nothing compared to the hype of that pair at the time |

Media makes this guy sound like a criminal but yet people think there is no problem bringing in Patrick Kane. Both of these guys have had a few issues but haven't had any in a while now. - SABRES 89
Has this even been an issue at all lately?
You can't pay everyone, and our previous GM decided to give 42 mil to Okposo.
Unless Kane wants 4.5-5 mil per year, on a short deal, there is an almost 0% chance he's resigned.
I'm all for keeping him until the deadline if they can't get much back now |

true story - homiedclown
There was a reason he was never drafted, perhaps size six years ago and skills and skating didn't compensate for lack of size at the time. I'm glad they have him and look forward to see what he will bring but don't think he is better than McCabe who had his own problems at the end of the year. |

Anyone think we should have drafted either SERGACHYOV or CHYCHRUN over Nylander last year since he clearly had a gap in D? - lulags

no im saying calling a guy who had good (not great, good) khl numbers in his mid 20's and hasn't played a second in the nhl our 2nd best d-men is flat out ridiculous.
i dont get the mccabe hate, he was clearly in over his head, belongs on the 2nd pair. Antipin is a rookie ( yea i know older and won some gentlemen award nobody gives a (frank) about) he will start on the third. |

The trickle down effect for Risto and McCabe should be real. We can balance minutes more effectively if Gorges is a 7 D, and get the minutes closer to
First pair: 25 mins
second: 19 mins
third: 16 mins
Rather than Risto playing 30 mins a night which will help Risto and McCabe

Button's final mock draft listing has us taking Mittelstadt at #8 ... top 3 D already gone ... not crazy about this mock pick |

He might be smarter, in terms of experience, but he is not a better hockey player or athlete, prospect than Guhle. |

I think that's still too much. I'd rather go with something like this
1st: 23
2nd: 21
3rd: 16 |
