I'm not focusing the direction of our team this year based on a guy who we will pick next year who won't make an impact for 3-5 years down the road

Vegas will need to move defensemen, as they will be picking a lot of them. I'm certain they're only looking to field a team instead of compete. I think the whole world knows that. So I doubt they care who they move. They want to build their team through the draft. When these next two classes start maturing, I think they'll then care about bringing in veteran players. But until then, these are all fluid assets. So, potential dmen they could be choosing that the Sabres should be hunting down..

A lot of these guys fit right in age wise and most don't/won't command large contracts besides Demers and Vatanen. There's a mix here of solid mid range defensemen and faster puck movers. Would be up to Bots to see how he could compliment our hopefully revamping D corps. No one here is a franchise savior, but a lot of them are great supporting dmen.
