adding in all raises, paying Kane 6mil, bringing in Eberle at 6mil, bringing in & signing Dumba at 5mil

This all leaves almost 5mil for raises to Nylander & Guhle the following year
And if u need more room,
we could save another 2.5-3mil by moving on from Beaulieu or Antipin & inserting Borgen or Fitzgerald into our Def Corps

It really isn't.

Kane is a good player. But he isn't good enough to invest long term and risk having to trade away assets that provide better value.

If we had won with this core, I'd say lock them all up long term and compete for the cup. But we haven't. Unfortunately, out of this current core, we have already paid KO and ROR. I don't see the need to invest 20 mil in 3 second line players.

If Kane wants to sign a 2-3 year extension, I am open to it being a good idea.

Not a 7 year deal. Just doesn't make sense to me
