That's 20 likely better goalies than Lehner if we take a few out from the probably better list it's still 16 or 17 better.

Does our goalie suck or does our defence suck? I am not sure what our goalie is but I do know his stats aren't that bad behind a horrible defence. Dubnyk sucked before he landed in Minnesota and Talbot looked terrible last year until the Oilers started playing some defence. Give him a one or two year deal behind a hopefully decent defence and take it from there.

Botterill has a plan, it's not like we don't have time to see what happens

I caught that too, but I think the second was Carrier. That is why it was only a 6th. If it was Foligino and Ullmark, I would think that the draft pick would have been higher.

i would say thats where the favour came into play. instead of charging us a 3rd/4th he only takes back a 6th because once upon a time we took klesla off their hands lol

I don't get the hate. Of goalies who appeared in at least 41 games, he finished 7th in the league in sv%. And did so behind an absolutely god awful defense. How does he not deserve $4 million?

I wonder why no one is clapping because NHL (frank)ing 17 was terrible more of the same

im willing to be a little more optimistic this time. i think the expansion draft pushed all 30 other teams back in their timeline of improving their own rosters by having to deal with this expansion/protection non sense. Now they can focus on their stuff.

-defence(mainly risto) collapsed to form the finnish wall around the slot. put the sabres under siege for along time but it kept shots to the outside

-Housley is going to want the D to be more mobile, doesnt bode well for a guy with a low high danger sv%

-Hes 2 for (frank)ing 14 in shootouts.

Who do we replace him with?

Mediocre starting goalies are making 4-4.5 million, and his numbers were not that bad.

Face it we are going to have to pay him $4million to stay, or trade him, then replace him with someone similar.
