Can we call about Nuggent Hopkins soon. That GM likes to lose trades.
CALL HIM! - Lilroot9
As bad at the Larsson for Hall trade looked last year, they made the playoffs this year and even made it to the second round.
Sometimes things aren't always as they seem at first glance. |

U really think that would somehow be on player's minds?
I don't at all
And we have plenty of Cap room for next year
We aren't in a position like Chicago - jdfitz77
As of right now, we only have 7 players (outside of prospects) signed for 2018-2019. So yeah, looks like we have plenty of space. But Eichel is going to eat up a good chunk of that and you still have to re-sign other guys or bring in others. |

or Draisaitl? or Klefbom? or even sekera lol. Larsson was just a passenger along for the ride. |

Not just because of him. But I'm sure he didn't hurt either...
It's still a bit of an odd trade, but as of right now, it didn't exactly NOT work out for them either. |

it was always going to "work out" because of mcjesus. doesnt make it any less of an awful trade though.
I maintain hes still among the worst gms in the 21st century but easily the luckiest. |

This I for sure agree with. |

It is kinda maddening to see such a bad gm be successful based on pure luck.
Why couldn't that have been Tim Murray? |

I think they are really going to regret having to pay Lucic $6m for 6 more years. |

I understand your comment, but they could not find a D anywhere else (what about Justin Schultz who just left them and won a cup on a cheap deal).
Hard to say that if the Oilers had Hall they would be worse. Hall on McDavids wing would tear it up. I would think. |

There's tons of room
We've got a whole bunch of guys that will only be getting very minimal raises
The locker room was an issue last year
That needs to be fixed
Obviously, 1st option is to trade Gorges
If he was an issue in Buffalo, I don't wanna risk him being an issue in Rochester either
He needs to go
A buyout isn't preferred, but it also won't hurt us |

One reason I loved that signing last year. To watch them struggle with it almost right away. Last year he was alright (not $6 mil alright though) and I can see the decline happening very very soon. |

As I said the other day, watch out for Garth, he should be fired at end of the season when they dont make the playoffs and watch Tavares walk. He has already traded away their entire future with all these 1st round pick trades (and 2nd round picks), they will struggle to even be able to do trades. And they know they have a hard time getting FA to sign (normally for too much $$ anyway) so they are in serious trouble. |

I know there's problems with Gorges on the ice. But what's this speculation about Gorges off the ice all about?

All I really care about right now is what's gonna happen to Kane cause that could be the difference maker in making a playoff spot competative team. |

He hasn't been THE Milan Lucic for a few years imo |

Eberle was a non factor last year so not a huge loss for the Oilers and if Strome can produce at all on the bottom six while dumping Eberle's salary, fine for them. |

I have a feeling Carolina is going to trade Two d-men for two forwards this week.
Faulk for Duchene being one of them
Young guy for young guy |
