It's a legit rumour u don't remember? - Sabresfan-365
BrodieManMN: Do you have more detail on what Wild GM Chuck Fletcher and Sabres GM Tim Murray had cooking with Evander Kane?
Russo: I can only say that I’ve been told by multiple sources multiple times that there were trade talks. But you can assume that in order to add $5.25 million in salary (even if salary/cap space were retained), it would have had to be a “hockey trade.”

And now they have Staal, plus Grandlund & Zucker established themselves
Obviously those 3 are in their future since they made the deal to protect them |

Not surprising given that he was left unprotected for the expansion draft, but the Panthers are open to moving Jason Demers for right price

I'd take Demers every day and twice on Sunday. I wanted him last free agency period. |

Even if that's all true...
Minnesota is in a much different spot now
Granlund & Zucker both finally established themselves
And they signed Staal

never happened
the wild may have made a phone call with a low ball offer, but there was never a legit offer received worth a follow up and never a call to another team by murray to trade kane |

The Canucks, however, aren't the only team with interest. A report out of Minnesota earlier this month stated Wild GM Chuck Fletcher and Sabres GM Tim Murray discussed a deal involving Kane.
Though Kane only has a year remaining on his contract, he carries an annual salary-cap hit of $5.25 million. The Canucks, Sabres and Wild are all pressed for cap space. Any deal involving him at this point must be dollar-for-dollar.

Trade 1 of the picks to Vegas for Theodore,
and pick a defenseman with the other
But then we have Kane's spot to fill - jdfitz77
I would love Theodore. If you can't get a guy that is ready to go like he is though, I wouldn't mind drafting another defender. Lily, Makar, Valamaki, Brannstrom, Foote and Hague should all be top4 guys. Heiskanen will be gone. I'd take just about any two of those previous 6 and be pleased.
Nylander should be ready to go either this or next season. Offer Vanek 1 year contract for $3-4m if Nylander isn't ready to go. |

It is amazing how many Sabres fans share this idea....
Another guy I like to trade for is Sustr from TBL. Good depth guy. Can skate well. Big big bodied. |

The whole point of this was whether or not Minny would trade for Kane NOW
They won't
It wouldn't make sense
Granlund & Zucker established themselves
And they signed Staal
What they maybe almost did a year ago has no bearing on their situation now |

Pegula wanted Kane gone, I am 1000% positive. Maybe he has a change of heart |

Before everyone starts to burn Botterill on the cross we must remember, we have 3-4 bad contracts that we can't move and if we do try and move them you gotta make the offer real sweet for another GM to take it. We don't have much to move in picks and players so everyone needs to relax and wait and see. |
