BTW, as follow up to overnight tweet storm, both Jonathan Marchessault and Rielly Smith of FLA have been informed they're bound for VGK.

Why do people care if Ullmark is gone? Most on here talk about how goalies are a dime a dozen. Ullmark is far from positionally sound, and he at best is a back up goalie.

Agreed. The 2017/2018 season is training tank season for them. The real prize is tanking next season when the draft is much stronger and Bettman feels compelled to give them the #1 selection.

The disappointing part is that the Sabres wanted him to turn pro and to sign him last year, so they drafted and were committed to the kid. It's not like he had one great year but previously the team never gave him the time of day

Only ones who seem to do it are punks. I agree NHL should change the rule. College players shouldn't get special treatment that CHL or Europe players don't get. If you leave college and don't sign with the team that drafted you at the very, very least the NHL should hand out a 3rd round comp pick. But I don't like the lack of loyalty guys like Vesey or Petersen (Should he not sign) Are showing to the teams that put the work in to draft you

thats cause they built their entire league on the foundation that the only way to win is drafting amateurs

With Subban, Emelin (Vegas) and NB gone from MTL and their #1 D-man prospect traded for Druin, I am thinking that MTL is going to overpay big time for Shattenkirk or Alzner. Also, Makarov is like 98 and Weber is 32 on August 14. The Habs are looking thin on the back end.

I hate Vegas. Ullmark personalty wise was my favorite in the organization. Plus he seemed to really like being here. And with goalies you sort of build up a bit of a deeper connection in their growth because it takes so long. Now we likely lose that are stuck with a complete unknown in the other Swede and a glorified mens league goalie that Murray terrible traded for in Kasdorf as our only other goalies. Lehner and his agent are probably liking their chops at how they will make Buffalo pay 5 mill over 5 years for him...
