I was sort of expecting that to be Read's role this year anyway. If all things are equal he likely isn't playing anyone out of a job on this roster.

They were so high on him that they had a deal in place with VAN to give up a 2nd along with #6 to move up one spot to #5.

So they basically valued Makar > Glass +2nd

how did Hextall get two first round picks fr Schenn? the conditional pick is top ten protected, where St.Louis can push the first rounder going to philly to 2019, if they do that they add a thrid rounder. this is a crazy haul fom Schenn.

I am happy with this team. Love a young scoring line with limited time and a decent shutdown line. And I'm super thrilled about the 2018 pick. Very deep draft and we have 2 picks that should both be 15-20.

I watch a ton of Blues and Blackhawks hockey. Remember that time that same MJL fought me all day on how Matt Read and T.J. Oshie were comparable, when I kept telling him that wasn't accurate? And how Dale Weise was a catastrophe waiting to happen because of how the Flyers were gonna have to use him, and MJL said it was gonna be all good?

If you take Hextall at his word that he's keeping Lehtera -- not sure I buy it, but he said it -- I really don't know how this works because neither Lehtera or Filppula is a true checking center, but as of right now, here's what I got:
