The thing is, the defense was god awful last year. They already made changes to that (though there is still room for more improvement). It's not like he hasn't done anything yet.

I don't need him making huge trades. I personally loved the Beaulieu one. At the end of the day, those trades are really the ones that make more of an impact more often than not.

I like those too but before I love that trade I'll wait and see how he plays, especially in his own end. If Toronto gets Harmonic or another top D, Beaulieu and Antipin aren't going to get the Sabres in the playoffs. Like JB said you aren't just competing on the ice but for the talent to build your team.

He's 29 yrs old too. So, a soon to be 30 yr old center on the decline for a 26 year old LW in his prime but with only one year left on his contract who was top ten in 5v5 goals, is a beast forechecker and kills penalties and has great speed. Not a lot of sense.
