Kills me how people dont see Kane as a fit here. Hes literally everything we need. He needs to be resigned - MCGUIZZY
Agreed. I don't like Harrington in the Buffalo News but he made the point yesterday is that if we trade Kane, one of the first things we need to do is find a Kane like player.
I want him resigned to a reasonable contract for both parties. But if he won't re-sign then Botterill has to trade him at some point.

I like those too but before I love that trade I'll wait and see how he plays, especially in his own end. If Toronto gets Harmonic or another top D, Beaulieu and Antipin aren't going to get the Sabres in the playoffs. Like JB said you aren't just competing on the ice but for the talent to build your team. - GilPerreault11
I agree. When I say loved the trade, I loved that it's one of the savvy under the radar type moves. In terms of whether or not it turns out to be one of those that also ends up being a pretty big impact trade at the end of the day, that's still to be seen since he hasn't played here yet. |

Apparently the groundhog bit Bill Murray a couple of times during the filming of this scene, pretty severely actually.

I am hoping that HOF Housley will be able to coach/mentor/improve Bogo's on-ice performance. If he can stay healthy, the guy has the size, shot and skating ability.

I have my issues with the Okposo deal as well, even before his illness. I thought that deal was way too premature for the state the team was in. That being said, if they figure out a way to get his salary off the books, signing Kane and winning a championship becomes a lot more feasible. - buffalofan19
Moulson, Ennis, Gorges, Bogo
These are the contracts that are killing us. Never been a huge fan of Okposo but i dont absolutely hate his contract as much as the guys above. Kane fits our timeline much better than the signing of Okposo |

Nah..
Hawks trading one dimensional scorer for a 2 way guy, same salary, Saad fits in better apparently..
Makes sense. |

We paid an appropriate amount for a 60 point player. - TheSabresTaco
His production was justifiable for the salary this year. It was neither a bargain nor an overpayment. I'm not disputing that. My issue has always been that it will lean towards "overpayment" well before the contract ends, and will almost definitely be one this team will need to get out from under, but have a very difficult time doing so. A contract like that is easier to stomach when you are close to being a contender. |

Nope. Toews and Kane went to Bowman and said how much this missed Saad and wanted him back. Panarin and Hjalmarsson are both UFAs in 2 years and VHI didn't think they could resign them.
Traded a 2x6M Panarin for a 4x6M Saad who bring some almost equal offensive output but plays a far far better 200 ft game. CLB (frank)ed up |

Who's playing Center for the rangers this year?
I still hope the Leafs sign Shatty as he's super overrated IMO - jdfitz77
#7 pick will be a center unless there is a trade |

The problem is that if you are going to upgrade this defense to a point where you can win a championship with it, it is going to be expensive. That's where those four contracts come in. And that says nothing of the massive raise Eichel will get eventually. Okposo's contract is better than any of those guys. It still was way too early in the timeline, especially when you already had those contracts on the books. |
