I'd rather have Kane than Stepan but that's just me I guess.

Stepan is basically worth the #7, is Kane only worth #21? - BigStew
Does his price go up or down when guys "competition" go off the board? (Kane) |

McCabe/Guhle can be the defensive D men on the top two pairs (eventually)
Risto/Shattenkirk can be the offensive two - sbroads24
didnt botterill say he envisions mccabe as more of a puck mover? |

I wouldn't trade him, I would try and resign him. My guess is there are more than a few GMs out there who would love to have him on thier team, what they pay for him, I have no idea. |

You can be a puck mover and a puck stopper. That's the guy that should cost 7M +

At the same time Kane is acting goofy on Twitter. Russo who covers the wild says that something is deeply cooking for Scandella. Hmmm |

Oh I know, I was just stating how I like Kane more and I wouldn't trade him for #21 in what seems like a weak draft. |

Apparently his play is declining. That's a major factor. |

Well, if Bots gives #8 for Scandella, he gets a Richard punch. |

josi is a bad example here as hes among the worst in shot suppression. in general i agree but mccabe isnt on those guys' level. Its unlikely he'll be able to play big minutes and be that good in all three zones. But housley liked him in an offensive role on the WJ team and i remember him being very very good.
Even this year before he fell off a cliff and got benched, he was taking on a more offensive role and looked much more effective out there. |

The Makar hype right now is strong. I like both and honestly they may be more pro ready that anyone else in the draft. One and done players imo |

I would guess Kane makes sense in Minnesota because they are a team that is 'going for it'. I could see Kane and #8 for #3 and a prospect to Dallas as well. Then we could grab Cale Makar. |

Somebody sell me on Scandella. He was +6 and has like 16 points last year (a career high = yikes!!). Why is this guy coveted? Seems like a 5/6 dman to me?? Is he a GREAT defensive defenseman or something?? Shutdown dman? |

I guess my post was less of a reflection of McCabe's play and more about who the Sabres need.
Now if McCabe turns into Ryan Ellis, I think we win here. |
