Pegula's phone went off during presser. At end, all were supposed to stay for scrums. He went exit stage-right with #Sabres PR. Hmmm. - turbo044

Wonder if that 5.75m cap hit lowers Kane's asking price at all. 8 years is crazy. - RhinoFan
Was thinking this too.

Better worry if his phone goes off, we don't want him making deals, bad enough he's too much of a fan as it is. |

Oshie is a better player all around then Kane, Oshie should make more. |

I think Krieder's contract is a really good comparable for Kane |

Probably has more to do with his age than all around play at this point |

Very few players in the league I would go 8 years for, very few. |

He the owner if a deal has been made should they not let him know...and does he not get the final say because he signs the checks.

Paying a guy until he is 39 is the tough part and the reason his cap hit is lower

That is going to be a tough contract to move the older he gets.
You know unless he develops a skin disorder... |

Galchenyuk for 8th and Nylander? - Mentalorgasm5
Why he's only gonna whine when he isn't playing centre and he shouldn't be in top 2 here |

I did find out it is legit, and he was playing with it most of the season.
But it's very convenient isn't it? |

283,000 under the cap and all of a sudden, he has a " rash" . because you know, he just started wearing equipment. |

Ok...
makes sense for both teams - jdfitz77
that would be a good hockey trade |

Would love to trade Kane #8 and zemgus to CAR for hanafin. They get the offense they want, the pick to draft a D to stay flush with them and another player in girgs. We get a top pair defense and keep rhino |

My sister in law is allergic to cats pretty bad, yet with a simple pill she can function around them without going into sneezing fits. Unless hossa literally bursts into flames from his allergy, I'm sure a professional athlete wouldn't have too much trouble finding some sort of medicine, some of which I'm sure average joes like us could not obtain, for a short term solution, be it game by game or perhaps a monthly injection of some kind. The convenience of it all is just too "X-files" to simply believe.
not too mention, If I were hossa, I'd be looking for custom gear without the said allergen impregnated into the equipment. Or I'd threaten to sue the NHL for putting my health in jeopardy if they won't allow him to use another type of equipment. There are ways to solve this issue, but to retire and supply cap relief is the best remedy apparently |

1. Devils - Wont take a defenceman
2. Flyers - Wont take a defencenman
3. Stars - Want to trade out (Hopefully they do to a team that needs centerman. Vegas?) if they stay put I'd put it at 60% they take a defenceman.
4. Colardo. No doubt about it they're taking the best defenceman available. Hopefully whoever is at 3 doesn't take 1.
5. Vancouver - Kind of a mystery. Needs help everywhere. They took a defenceman last year so logic would say they go forward. I'd say 65% right now they go forward.
6. Vegas - My guess is they take the best forward. I know some have them mocked to Makar but I can't see their first ever pick as a franchise being nothing else than a centerman
7. Rangers - They have the worst AHL team in league so guessing they go BPA. Toss up but I'd go 60/40 they go forward.
So we really need everyone but Colorado to take a forward in order to get the other top defender. I don't like our odds but it's not impossible. |

Oshie is a better player all around then Kane, Oshie should make more. - SABRES 89
Yeah I think that's the thought process. If Oshie commands only 5.75 on a long term deal, then Kane's agent may have a difficult time justifying that amount or more when his player is less talented and has considerably more baggage. That contract probably helps our negotiations. |
