I know this isn't really relatable, but I was incredibly late developing as far as strength. I was decent as an athlete, but didn't developed any muscle until later
I could barely bench 135 in high school, and was up to over 200 a year later without ever really working out regularly. I just filled out - sbroads24
Kane is not one dimensional considering he has speed, is one of the best forecheckers in the league, and yeah he kills penalties, oh and has size. There are a lot of dimensions there.

The muscle is one thing but he ranked the worst on the VO2 max among all prospects as well. That tells me he hasn't taken his physical conditioning serious. Thats a red flag to me. Now these are things that can be fixed I know but I dont like to see that early on. I hope he has a big summer and prepares like a pro so he can make the jump into college.

does owen tippett not have size and speed? - Sabresfan-365
I didn't say I hate the guy I said basically, winger prospects who got a lot of their notoriety with their shot make me nervous since Paul Cyr. I think Kane was a better prospect than Tippett in his draft year. We'll see maybe Tippett will be an annual all star.

You can make a guy as physically fit as you want but you can't teach talent. If he is talented I'm not to worried about the physicals conditionining of a 17 year old kid.
Idk im just nervous. I thought Tippett was a cant miss prospect but most feel Mittlestadt was good value. Im optimistic but not super comfortable with it. Cant get over the high school thing and the combine - MCGUIZZY
yeah...I get that...mittelstadt was ranked 5th by mckeens, 7th iss, 3rd css, 3rd baker
Hague and Timmons would be my targets. Im not gonna reach for a goalie - MCGUIZZY
All 3 are rated 2nd to 3rd round picks dont think your reaching taking one tmrw in the first 2 rounds, just think we should replace Peterson in prospect pool.
I worked in athletics at a D1 university. Those kids were at the gym in the offseason at 6 AM for training on a regular schedule. He will put some muscle on that already big frame.

Yea I guess I just dont really see the value if taking one that early. Goalies are the hardest prospects to predict. Its much easier to hit on forwards and d-men in the first couple rounds than goalies in my opinion.
NHL.com analysis: Could jump into Sabres lineup after one season at University of Minnesota. Having Jack Eichel and Mittelstadt through the middle could be start of bright future in Buffalo.
