He can't draft D just for the sake of drafting D. It's that simple, the WORST thing you can do, especially in a draft where most players aren't going to be ready for two to three years is draft for need NOW. That's not only risky, it's just plain dumb. A lot of things can happen between now and when they're ready and your needs maybe different.

Remember the years Darcy went for Size? Kassian, McNabb, Foligno, Connor Knapp, etc.

He went for size because he felt the team was too small. Draft the players that will have the biggest impact for the team without thinking about what your team needs right now.

If they player would come in and make an immediate impact then by all means grab them if they fit a need, but if not. Draft the BPA.
