All joking aside, Hanifin has been Colorado's top target in a Duchene deal for ages. If CAR will pull the trigger, believe Avs will, too. - jimbo83
That deal kinda makes sense for both teams. |

Stepan, Raanta, and Staal for OEL!! Staal agrees to waive ntc. Rangers then include Skjei in deal for Trouba. With Staal contract gone, we sign Shattenkirk. Top 4 D. Trouba-OEL. Shatty- Mac. Thank you. Get it done Gorton |

Team already lost Lindberg and now you are advocating dealing Miller? Who replaces their offense? FA Market is weak, so now another forward would be needed. Move makes some sense, though not a big Hutchinson, but with Allaire, maybe he unlocks something. - airjan23
I would not want to deal Miller. That's why on one of the last 2 blogs, I mentioned Raanta, the #1 pick, and either Holden &/or a d'man prospect (level depending on Holden (UFA next season) being included or not, with the Jets needing left side help on their back line).
But, I had only mentioned that sort of "steal" deal for the Rangers, on that particular blog to which you replied to my post, (provided only if Trouba were to sign long term here), due to the reports in Winnipeg that they were desperate on 2 matters.
One was to improve their near worst ranked NHL goal tending, in taking a chance that Raanta will re-sign for 1 more season, with their 21 year old top prospect in Comrie, who played for Team Canada, being said to be NHL ready soon, and as a starter within 2 seasons.
The second matter was the word there that the Jets may fear losing Trouba for real after this season, due to him not being guaranteed a top 4 role on the right side of their back line, with Tyler Myers returning for good (they hope) from injury. That, coupled with Trouba wanting to be traded last season (prior to signing that bridge deal), may cause them in desperation to part with him, after they had inquired on multiple occasions with the Rangers in a trade for Raanta prior to the trade/waiver freeze last weekend.
So in the end, you have "to give to get" most of the time. But, I would not want to part with Miller, but suspect that it will require him in part to acquire Trouba, which is a harder "get" to acquire in the NHL, especially today when only Faulk, possibly Dumba, an injured Vatanen, and that other, but "free of giving up any assets", RH d'man named Shattenkirk are only known to be available to suit the Rangers' own desperate need. |

Sounds like another big Arizona trade is in works. Raanta and Stepan likely to Coyotes. 7th overall could be part of it and DeAngelo. |

JAN, Buch can get a regular shift by trading a miller. They need a Dman desperately. The idea that Miller is some sort of untouchable really irks me, his IQ sucks and he has disappeared two playoffs Ina row. - Slimtj100
Honestly, I really like Miller's IQ. It's his post-season disappearing acts that have me a little worried about his future and willing to see him moved. |
