could be, the same chayka who gave him that terrible deal? That chayka? - rinaldo
Like I said at the time, it was a good risk vs reward proposition. The reward didn't pan out, but it was risk free because a RHD who moves the puck can always be sold. |

fair point.
but he had a problem, and he got rid of it. - Tumbleweed
correct. see what a change of scenery does with better coaching. I am not murphy fan by the way. Hawks must have scene something |

Deangelo is not that elite. ELite players don't get suspended half the season for bullying a teammate incessantly for being black. You can have all the talent in the world but if you're an ahole no one will deal with it long. He's been traded twice already. He is the perfect personality to play for the Rag bag. |

Hjalmarsson played 96% of last year on the right side of Keith. Don't you think it's more likely he was acquired to play with fellow swede OEL? And chychrun stays on the left. I have to believe there is one more trade coming for a right side d. |

Good for Chayka. At least he's not afraid to make changes. Find another centerman and the team could be on it's way to a wild card spot in no time. |

Clown college? Don't pretend that the HB blogger gig pays enough to cover even one tenth of your monthly mortgage. |

I know this is becoming a pattern, but Tanner was right again.
Just cause I like picking on you.. pretty sure you were wrong in all of your Pens series predictions. Still like ya though.
But in this instance I do agree, I like what Chayka is doin. |

There is no question that the Coyotes have made themselves a better team today with the moves they made. The question is are they making the right moves to build a true contender? |

OEL is obviously a stud, but you can't blame Murphy for not developing when he's playing with hot garbage (worst roster in the NHL by far right last season).
We'll see how he performs playing with the Hawks. Cost-controlled RHD are not cheap, and Boychuk (similar player to Hammer) was only moved for two second round picks at the time he was moved to the Isles.
Good for the Coyotes, but not sure why they acquired him if they aren't winning anytime in the next two seasons. - TommyHawk
'Yotes got Hammer to play along side OEL.
The 'Hawks got Murphy for 3 more years at $250k less cap hit, who can be plugged into a system driven by Keith.
In two years, 'Hawks may not afford Hammer, who had two team-friendly deals covering 9 seasons. Hammer can then choose to get paid in two summers by a bottom feeder or UFA 7/1/19.
Just like the Panarin deal, the 'Hawks got in return cost certainty for longer periods. Stan is better managing his cap. |

damn. yotes are gonna be a hockey team.
every move from ditching old man smith, dumping old school tip, to both big deals today....
unreal work by your owner and gm.
now just put a fresh face instead of a retread behind the bench and your off to the races. |

I agree.
