I fully get what JB says that hurts NHL depth on D.
Now say we ignore that for a moment....

Trading Tanev asap when value is there is needed.
A step back & garners a certain high pick next draft is a reality.
The return would be key for rebuilding.
That next draft is loaded on D talent to pick from.
2nd up is if Tree can break his KHL contract he has a legit shot as a top 4 here.
The right pairings & he would grow into the role just fine.
Opening up competition for top 4 is better sooner than later.
In the end its a huge carrot for Tryamkin

I dunno man - here's why - Hartford had the blue and green when Vancouver had the black and yellow - and most would agree the Whalers jerseys (green and navy) were the nicest....thus, the Canucks did see the door open to get on back to their original threads....and did aa great job.

Personally, I think the Red Calgary with white C are the best jerseys of all all time.
