We have plenty of power play players only. We will live without him. - MikesPillBottle
Nope. Sounds like a 25 goal scorer means everything to a team. Flyers better just pack it up and call the season now without Schenn. |

Not trying to be mean, but the interview with Matthew Strome...
Seems a bit dopey, but hopefully that means he is a battler. - Glak18
He did kinda, but I think he was nervous and seemed like a nice kid. Seemed like he understood he has work to do. |

I actually liked the trade. I just think its funny how some are making like Schenn was garbage. (not you specifically)

He just struck me as immature. And that probably is a direct link to why he has conditioning and skating issues.
Lets see what happens when he grows up a little.

It's not like he sounded unintelligent...just I don't know like the kid from Bad Santa. |

I personally don't see anyone trading 2 1st round picks for Brayden Schenn ever. The deal sounds like it was a last minute thing and Hextall took it and ran.
What if Schenn has a bad year or an injury that limits his playing time. Most likely this was the highest value Schenn would have in his career, why hold onto someone who is nice to have, but not a make or break for a team? - Glak18
What if Couturier gets hurts again? What if Patrick's injury history is everything we've read about? What if Giroux has another down season. These are more likely, as Schenn has remained one of our more healthy players along with Simmonds and Voracek over the past five seasons. |

4 bad contracts? They only have one bad contract, and that's AMac and mainly due to the 3rd year. The others are all for only 1 or 2 years (Fip, Read, Lehtera) or small enough cap hits to not be a big deal (Weise). - BiggE
Ignorance is bliss because just because a deal is short, doesn't mean it doesn't suck. |

My point not being anything could happen, but more along the lines..Schenn's value will never be this high again.
2 1st round picks and maybe a 3rd for a 25 goal scorer..you take that any day of the week including the made up Funday. Super replaceable. |

Well I guess Hextall didn't want to package picks to get rid of anyone. Can't fault him for that. At least he was able to make a jump and grab Ratcliffe. The goalie prospect seems strong but it's going to be tough to ever get all these goalies a look at the AHL level. |

Flyers have plenty of cap space and they have 4 "bad" contracts. So they can't go out and sign...ok no one comes to mind that's even worth signing. Or they could trade for an expensive contract....and give up assets.
If the Flyers had to resign Simmonds or Provorov or anyone else and had those contracts I might be mad. Otherwise its pointless unless you have to pay the bill. The contracts aren't even keeping the young kids from making the team. |

Nobody could possibly know this and I disagree. Schenn is 25 years of age and the possibility of him becoming a 30 goal scorer isn't outside the laws of possibility. When did Simmonds score 30 for the first time? |

Yup it's great to have cap room but pointless if you're not planning on using it for anything.
The one thing to be concerned about is the Lehtora's and Wise's and Read's taking roster spots away from the kids. |

Exactly. I personally think he was the odd person out in core of the group in a social sense. Every locker room has circles that certain players tend to hang out with, I think he was more of a loner from the team. Again I am bias because I found him very unlikeable. |

Just out of curiousity, who are the 4 bad?
AMac is obvious. Dale Weise?
Who are the other 2?
