Nice to see Lou is on board with playing the long game. I would be willing to move a known position first but happy to add Liljegren. Hard not see him becoming a top 4 D.

With D prices this high seems like the logical spot to add with so much cap is UFA. If Liljegren ends up being the long term option to the top 4 then a shorter duration contract is key.

Micheal Stone seems like odd man out now in Calgary. A younger, better Polak, I'd offer the Kris Russell contract. Cap hit shouldn't be an issue if he plays bottom pair for a season or two because a rookie (hopefully Liljegren) pushes him out and would be on ELC anyways.

Lilagren is a top end talent for sure. He will need a year in Sweden but after that I see him being sheltered on the 3rd pair as he develops for a year. The sky is the limit with him but they also need to be careful.

With that being said...a D with 3 years would be perfect to trade for. Gives him plenty of time.

You knew going in that this draft wasn't very deep or good, and that there wasn't much of a divide between prospects ranked 60 and higher.

I agree and Faulk would be awesome but the prices are likely too high. Maybe that changes this week but probably not. Now that the Leafs first is off the table it kills a lot of high end deals. The 17th would be fine but a possible lotto pick isn't.

With the expansion draft over I don't see why any of those earlier rumored teams would trade a D now. Vegas is ready to deal though. And Tanev but Benning is going to (frank) that up.
