Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
What would we be dealing for Faulk? - As_I_See_It
I keep hearing people on here and pulling Twitter posts talking about Carolina looking for scoring, looking to move D for scoring......stuff like that. And, Faulk's name keeps coming up. Some have even connected TVR/JVR playing together in Carolina.
Don't know, it might all be bullpoop...probably bullpoop. It does make some sense though so who knows. |

Does anyone think that maybe Joe Thornton could be a fit for the Leafs?
If the Leafs really want to take advantage of having the kids on ELC's and Jumbo Joe was still interested in a legit chance at a cup, it could work if they get him on a team friendly deal. They could use him as a 2/3 centre and pp guy, while mentoring the kids. Then Bozak would be an expendable asset, as possible trade bait for a D upgrade.
How sweet would it be to see Thornton end his career with a Cup in Toronto?! Obviously, there is more needed to win but I think he can still help a team, especially a team like the Leafs.
Hell, Marleau can come too!! Remember when Kariya and Selanne made winning a priority and signed really cheap deals together with Colorado back in 2003? Make it happen Lou!!! - Rabbie2x
I like Bozak, just not sure if traded what've the return would be.

I Gotta give your team credit, solid draft. Unfortunately Holland only does things in 25s and that's where our rebuild is at timewise |

I thought you were joking because, like every year, none of us know anything really about any of these guys
Defensive systems can be taught. Great skating, passing, shot, vision are harder, or impossible to teach.
The criticism sounded ridiculously harsh regarding someone who was consensus first overall 1/1A only 12 months ago. Sounds like the guy with that opinion has an axe to grind for some reason.
My guess... he is Jake Gardiner maybe, if he has that many brain farts. |

I can't even spell his name
I did read from our favourite hater, Simmons, that this kid was a steal. Had mono that dropped him.
He made him out to be an offensive D man. |

I watched his highlights...I know it's the worst case sample size except....
the kid can definitely skate, he can definitely shoot and he has a pretty quick stick. But what's weird, is in the highlights that show him in the D Zone, he was hemmed in each time.
I have a feeling he REALLY needs to work on his D game and clearing the zone...just a hunch.
Not saying he's going to be Karlson but I can see how he could be compared to Karlson for being bad on the D side of the puck.
Can he grow out of that? That is the question. |

Well, some of these chooches have said it was a steal. And honestly, that word gets thrown around way too much. But like I said, is grumpy Simmons says it's a good pick...maybe it actually is.

Never understood the hate that came with Bozak. He killed it on f/o this year, no? What's he supposed to do? Weird |

as our 3rd best center I think he is pretty good.
he would get 3x4 in FA but if he is willing to sign for 3x3.5 I would do it. |

I think the hate comes from unfair expectations of him being put into the postion of 1C on Toronto playing alongside Kessel oh-so-many years ago.
As a 3C who can win face offs, kill penalties, and put up 40-50pts/season I think he's actually pretty great. |

I'll third that too.
Watching the Sens vs Leafs season opener right now. What a great game.
Somethings we shouldn't forget:
1. Milan Michalek started the season in the line up.
2..Holland started the season in the line up.
3. Andersen was injured and missed preseason. He let is some stinkers that night. By the mid/end of the season he was in top form.
4. Enroth.
5. Smith and a couple other cast offs were in and out of the line up....next year will be better right from the start.
6. Marincin
7. Hunwick
8. We didn't start the season with Polak.
(Matthews second goal just happened....(frank)ing awesome.) |

Yeah Lou is just waiting him out - although Schlemko went for what a 5th (2019), could have done something similar for Miller maybe McNabb |
