Agreed Broads. How can the race card be played when Byfuglien appeared to be the player who has had the most difficulty dealing with his antics?
The way I remember it went like this:
-2 seasons ago Kane was very frustrating to watch. I couldn't stand watching him shoot the puck what seemed to be almost every time he had the puck. Dude was a complete black hole, no pun intended. On top of that he missed the net way too much for my liking. I think it would be crazy to think players don't take notice to that. And when the dude passed the puck it was inaccurate or unhandleable. No touch.
- Last off season the distractions started piling on. F this guy, get rid of him, whatever you can get. GMTM didn't. A true test of fortitude and he stayed the course. 1000 points of light.
- Last season he gets hurt and it's like oh great now he's untradeable. He gets back and it's like whoa.
Stats guys will tell you his shooting percentage is unsustainable, and they could be right. I'm willing to take a chance.
That is why I have been the first and only advocate of letting him play out his contract. I'll take what seems to be a good probability he'll have a close to career year in contract year. Sabres good, keep hm for playoff push, bad and he's good, deadline. Foolish to get rid of so many goals without as many coming back in.

I have no idea. It's a bizarre take.
I believe race is relevant in hockey, but it has 0 to do with Kane getting run out of his own locker room |

Remember when the cb radio craze enthralled the world back in the last century? What a hoot that was. Not.
Sabres came close for a while there with Perreault, Gare, McKegney, and Edwards/Sauve. - LandlordTom
Sure do. My Dad was all into it back in the early 70's when I was a kid..... as was most Dads back then I knew. |

What I'll say at Byfuglien is he's some leader as he's certainly lead the Jets too...nothing. |

There are always those in society who hate change and can't let go. I liked TM but damn, GMJB has been GM for 6 weeks and there were few trades made yesterday. Patience is a virtue. - GilPerreault11
Point about liking change is completely irrelevant here. Like it or not, it's all you've been getting around here. GMTM should be the GM. Now I got to wait for Botts to learn on the job. My first memory of GMTM was hearing him say Buffalo selects Sam Reinhart in front of raucous crowd and blew everyone away. I was there. He had the moxy. Got us ROR right before Eichel was picked like a champ. GMs are supposed to get 2 coaches. GMTM earned it with Kane (acquiring and handling) and ROR. People female dog about emptying the cupboards. Bull poop. Get out of here with that. Cupboards were stocked because nobody worth a dam was on the team. Maybe Risto. Congratulations. |

That's The future, may take a few years as we bring these guys up but the direction is looking good. Be patient people!
People will argue this but,
Reinhart is expendable, doesn't fit the run and gun style. & the team is in need of a legit top 4 defenseman.
Kane should be traded while his value is high

I thought Vegas had a 48 hour window before other teams?

Agreed.
I like what I have read on Middlestadt. He's the best puck handler in this draft apparently |

I think you are missing the point. It's not so much him getting run out of his own locker room, it's the disdain fans hold towards him and trying to run him out of town compared to other good Canadian white boys who have done far worse than wear an athletic suit to a team meeting in Winnipeg and things he has not even been proved guilty of doing in Buffalo. |

Move Kane and Reinhart? There goes 50 or so goals on a team that doesn't score very much. Why the rush to move on from Sam? Second season was a bit disappointing but he's still productive and safe from UFA for 4 or so years.
I get that d is the big thing now. But you'd be selling Reinhart lower than what his value is to us. And to get who? Hanifin? If we had Hanifin we'd likely be trying to move him for a young center.

But his skating stride is choppy...yet he is one of the fastest players in this draft...
Eichel has a weird stride but nobody complains about that.
He is a very fast skilled player...he just needs some strength. |

OK...Let me say this first I also liked GMTM...But he is gone!!!!! Deal with it!
So instead of female doging about what he might have done, actually lets see what GMJB can do...so far like the coach he hired, like the moves he has made.
You are criticizing him cause of what you think TM might have done, when you have no idea...Give the guy a chance,

as bandit mentioned, i dont really care how he does it as long as it works. My concern with him was his ushl production, particularly 5v5, was basically that of someone who should go mid to late first round. |

I see, you need immediate gratification, even though it took TM 15 months to trade for ROR; 6 months to trade for Kane but JB gets 6 weeks or less to make a blockbuster trade to satisfy you. |

same with josh norris (went 19th to SJ). similar production overall, norris almost doubled his 5v5 offence.
Again this could all be moot, he could've been gifting his players chances and they're just not burying it but it caught me by surprise that a guy as highly touted as him was getting all his points on the powerplay. |
