I mean if we somehow get rid of Bogo frees up 5 million right there
And we're basically just adding another million or two for Shattenkirk

Would u take it

Getting rid of Bogo would be wonderful. But I think Shatt would want more years than I would prefer to give him.

How has BF1 been treating you Bandit?

Haven't played in a while. I need a new controller. Left analog stick is (frank)ed up. It's almost impossible to even navigate Netflix. I took it apart hoping there was just dirt stuck in there, it might have made a tiny difference, but I need a new one to play any games. The left stick is perpetually going up without touching the stick. If I hold it back a bit it can sort of stop it, but that's a no go with games.

Have you played any of the night maps yet?

You don't draft a C with the 8th overall pick when you know damn well you have to upgrade the defense and you have been saying you have to upgrade the defense. Part of Murray's downfall was the defense, i'm unimpressed.

I bet Botterill isn't worried if you are impressed.

David Pagnotta-

Kings continue to search hard for a top-line winger. Their goal is to bring one in soon, preferably a LW.

Is this the same guy who said Kane has zero value league wide?

No
Bc even though he's a good player, he's not a good fit for us

U can backread to see why I think that

There's such a thing as spending money badly
Having a 6-7mil defenseman on the 2nd pair isn't smart spending imo

Yeah played Neville Nights. Mixed feelings about it but I haven't really played it a lot. I have been working close to 70 hours a week, I work in sales and the company I am with does the most business during spring and summer so BF1 has been on the back burner for me as well.

Can we all agree that our team went from perfectly average in goals against two years ago to being a train wreck by the end of last year? Using these facts as a launching pad, consider the following:

We have some Damn good talent on this team

We are among the youngest teams

Our pp was #1 last year

We signed 2 good, young defensemen recently and have one coming up who has stud potential

We now have a coach that wants to play uptempo hockey, and even though we aren't especially fast now, all our youngsters in the pipeline can burn

Lots to be excited about

You make some good points and an optimistic viewpoint on this board is a little refreshing.
I know we have some damn good talent, but so does most every team in this conference. Random crap like health is going to going to be very important on this team because this is not a deep team.

Youth is good, but one can take the flip-side and call this team very unproven. But youth IS more exciting than its counterpart and it represents the unknown.

Along the blue line there is going to be a fair bit of on-the-job training and most likely will be a bit messy.

It will be interesting to see this new uptempo style with some of the plodders currently on the roster.

If they reached for a D-man at 8, you were expecting him to jump into your lineup and make an impact? I mean cmon man, get with it.

I thought CM would be gone at 5 or 6. I think you guys got a great player at 8.

Good post

Our forward talent is way underrated imo
Some on here like to say we have a lot of "average" guys
If they're all that average, I don't think we could've had the #1 PP

Defense has gotten younger & faster
Our team's overall improvement likely depends on how good that group plays

No, we weren't expecting him to be in our lineup this year

Mittelstadt is fine, not a bad pick

But we've been ignoring defensemen in the high rounds of the draft for years
And that why we are in such rough shape

30 defensemen were chosen this year in the draft before we chose one
That's not how u improve the lack of defensive depth in our prospect pool

I'm definitely not expecting this team to be the #1 PP in the league next year. The guy who coached that out of them is gone. If they end up being a top 10 PP, I will be pleased.

They're right to go bpa but it means they should start looking at moving one of nylander/mittelstadt/reinhart for a d-man over the next year or so.

I don't know much about what's in your pipeline, but they're gonna have to go deal some picks/prospects for defensive prospects. I'm shocked you guys weren't in on Hamonic. Can round out your top 4, can jump up into the top 2 if need be, plus a great contract. And we need a 2C still.

Agreed.

Seeing what Oshie got, and reading that people aren't very interested in Kane makes me wonder if he would re-sign at his current amount or less, it might not be an awful idea.

Unless he really is awful for the locker room and Pegula still wants him out.

If no one is that interested now, who's giving him 6-7 mil in a year?
