I have a long list of reasons to dislike him as a GM, however, I do have a few bright spots now that make him more palatable. - LeftCoaster
I think you can look at almost any GM and see faults if your trying hard enough
Benning seems to have some sutterisms in him where he needs to just not talk to the media and just do his job beyond that

The more I seen him the less I was excited at the end. Let me explain . I think he was trying to do everything himself. I don't blame him because his wingers were sh1t.
He had some slick moves but teams knew it was coming and concentrated on him. - VANTEL
I think by the end of the season teams had fully given up on shutting the twins down and put their full focus on bo . |

I expect him to be signed tomorrow - VANTEL
From what I read last week in the province is that Van was offering a incentive based contract to Miller. This would push the cap hit on to the next yr where they have more freed up cap space. Smart if you ask me.

I don't go into enough threads of other teams, but I'm guessing not all like their gm's or give them glowing endorsements.
If (sorry) we had won the Cup with Gillis he would be in the ring of honour. |

I don't like that. I would rather a pay now back up at 2 mil. We aren't winning anyways |

Funny how that works. One game either made him the best GM of all time or a complete tool for how he left this team with almost zero prospects. |

It was all the NTC/NMC and lack of drafting I didn't like about Gillis. Not the game 7 |

We won't be a cap team until we get back to be competitive again. FA is going to want something out of it, if he isn't getting the playoff revenue then he will make it up with reduced salary's. |

Smart to push the cap hit but I'm not sure if it is all that smart to resign him though.
It is just with Miller here, Markstrom is totally wasted. And I'm not sure if he has any value either. and can't show much value with limited starts behind Miller.
Maybe it isn't a big deal. Not my money. but could limit other options if we don't have cap space for other moves. |

It was his only way to keep their cap hit low. Sedins at 6mil in their prime, Kesler at 5mil with a Selke and 40goals, Burrows at 2mil for 25-30goals a yr. etc. |

I agree with the not signing him but if they are, I like the way they are doing it.
It is time for Miller to move on. |

yep.
he gambled picks, and some lean years in the future, for a chance at the cup.
he'd be looked upon more favourably, got us so close, if he wasn't such a sweaty feck. |

Sedins at 12 mil back then was market value. So was Kesler Bieksa Hamhuis Garrisson Burrows and Hansen.
Even Benning didn't have to give Miller Vrbata or Tanev NTCs |

I think once you have Oj, boeser, Jv, pettersson, dahlen, etc on the team and you start to see where they should or could fit in then you get excited ...or depressed ...but at least then you know
Oh and demko ...he is still the biggest key to all this ...if he can become a stud then it might not matter if you have a Crosby or karlsson |

I think the biggest change needs to be the style we play. Enough with the perimeter pass pass pass game and start going to the front of the net. |

Pratt's a complete asshat! The only reason he has a job is to stir the pot. TSN1040 should get rid of him and Bro Jake. I can't stand listening to those 2. - Kaynine
They are a pair of rock and roll jockeys. That's it...nothing more. Complete garbage for sports hosts.

Overheard at the draft from some team execs: "If Elias Pettersson weighed 20 more pounds he would have gone first overall." #Canucks - VanHockeyGuy
I agree with this. He certainly has the skill. The questions are wether or not he can fill out, and if no can he be effective regardless. |

Yup I agree ...and as long as you start taking it to the net more often you force the D to respect that option and not anticipate the perimeter pass ...which will allow you more space along the perimeter of you decide to go back to that style ... |

We will know for certain once this season's proposed line-up is posted.

Like anything else, you need competition. Hopefully Sportsnet comes out of the gate quick and gets a big piece of that listener pie. TSN will fold like a $2 lawn chair. |
