Still very impressed with the Pettersson selection but I'll admit to being disappointed with the lack of Defensive prospects in the later rounds.

yep. but I can live with what we have.
wasn't impressed with picking a goalie but he seems like a good kid.
We need skill and scoring and drafted some. |

Yes you are wrong, that statement says that there was a deal and Vegas backed out...not because of Benning announcing to the all GM's in the room....Hey I'm not picking Glass, I want Pettersson, give me a break stringer
My God, you people don't understand the subtleties of this at all, do you?
We aren't talking about getting up and announcing who you are planning on selecting - we are talking about things that are a million times more subtle. We are talking about stupid hints that we let out that give other people certain impressions.
For instance, did you know that we set up a special meeting between Pettersson and the Sedins? So, what impression do you think that gave Vegas? When we, with our #5 overall pick, set up a special meeting between the #9 ranked prospect and our super-stars? What do you think Vegas thought when they heard about that? When we didn't do it with Glass?
And, that was just one of the hints we let out. There were others.
You guys need to start thinking about this on a much higher level. |

Immediate need doesn't seem to be in goal, but as far as bpa, I guess it makes sense.
competition among our prospects is a good thing. |

You completely ignored the 'and' and everything after it. Unbelievable.
I notice you also didn't provide any sources (like I did). - stringerbell
I didn't ignore it, that was pure speculation on your part as well as your interpretation of the source you provided.
I watched the draft, Benning received a call after Makar was chosen, the deal was of he picked up a jersey and headed to the stage. |

He is 5 years away from the NHL. It is a huge need. Demko isn't a slam dunk |

I guess you have to keep drafting goalies so you always have something in the system, not everyone is turning out...
But do we need to draft one every year? (seemingly so, I guess I should look into this before saying it ) |

There were plenty goalies to be had in later rounds. I'd rather take a dman in the third round. He's undersized, and I don't get why we needed another goalie at this point. |

Aside from the draft, was really disappointed in lack of trades from Benning. Was at the minimal hoping he took on some salary for picks/prospects. |

Demko was three years ago. It's prudent to draft a goalie every 3 years |

Yeah, but, but, but, did Glass have dinner with the Sedins, come on that says something right there... - Makita
I think Glass shared a meal with Benning. Linden and Benning also took out Makar for dinner. Newsflash Stringer, every (frank)ing team does this |

I'm not talking about the normal meetings that all teams do - I'm talking about the extra-special meetings only Pettersson (and Makar) got invited to. Jesus. |

Next deadline? Theres no expansion draft next year forcing Bennings hand were "staying competitive" and not moving anyone
Edit: Hopefully Sedins and Edler are forsure traded |

If Gillis was still the GM and this exact scenario was laid out I'm betting you would be praising the pick.
This is really just Benning hatred oozing out of you. |

glass is a bust, elias has way more upside.

I hope it is Edler. Definitely want him traded.

Isn't it interesting.... For the second time in this thread, I've googled one of your guys' (unsourced) claims - only to find absolutely nothing! Even when I restrict the search to only the last week or only the last month.
Are you guys taking comments from this thread and using them as sources??? |

It's a 100% fact Stringer boy. I'd spend time looking for a link but I have better things to do. |
