Eurohaters grinding their teeth why they aren't playing on Comets.

Well you wonder if they moved the team to lower mainland or Portland if the willingness to play in the AHL would be more prevalent?

Ahh need a good mix. Van has a ton of players on the Comets already. Be good to have a few older more experienced players with the young ones.
Forwards under contract that are AHL eligible.

Toronto media gave Benning a B grade. We know how much they like to sh1t on Vancouver any chance they get. Benning is probably sitting in his office smoking a Cuban thinking "If those d1ckheads gave me a B then I must have done really really good
- VANTEL

no doubt. Even an inbreeding Torontonian can't chirp our draft

Like many, I wanted Glass. My mind hasn't changed since yesterday but I'm not down on Petterson. Can't deny his offensive potential... his skating... he's thin... not short... I really don't see any red flags. He looked pumped to be picked by the Canucks... haven't seen that in a while... I like him over Vilardi for sure. I see him as a Mittelstadt with way less risk/unknowns basically. We got one of the best 4 C's, with a development jump and some immediate size over the next year, this kid has the potential to be the best C in the draft... I have to remind myself he's not in junior... So it's hard to be disappointed with the selection. My priority box was checked with an interchangeable name.

I'm really happy with the rest of the draft. Excited about Lind, Grad, Depietro... names that were on my short list for round 2 and 3.

You said it well. Pumped now that this ballsy pick turns into a 1C star someday.

At the end of their careers I doubt you see much of a difference in points or games played.

It was an either or pick.

- manvanfan

Hmmm don't think JB sees it that way otherwise he'd of played it safe with Glass.

Elias has the potential it seems to outshine everyone in this draft and be a star in the NHL. Not dish of Glass cause I liked him more. But seems if both reached potential or ceiling then Elias would be at JT level to Glass's Kesler... sorry for analogy couldn't think of better one to make point.

I don't get how you see Glass as the safer pick. Pettersson is already playing against men. That would sound like a much safer pick.

The margin between players in any draft is VERY small. The last couple of players to run away with scoring in drafts would be John Tavares, Steven Stamkos, Patrick Kane, Sydney Crosby. They players were all legit #1's without a doubt.

Van did not pick up a player with potential to be substantially better then the guy drafted below him.

Wasn't petersson mentioned as probably going first if he was a bigger body right now ?
- Redmile247

He was…but it's tough to go on maybe's and rumours. I also heard that Glass and Vilardi were going to drop. Plus I also heard Makar may go as high as 3OA maybe even eclipse Hischier or Patrick. I had coffee with a few scouts earlier in the week and they said don't be shocked if Makar goes 3OA and he almost did.

I like Petersson just that Glass was the wiser choice at this particular time IMO…Time will tell of course.

I also am 100% all for signing Evander Kane as a free agent. Can score goals and if tough. Would make a huge difference for this team, Kane-Gadjovich+Virtanen-Lebate would make all the difference how this team plays.

so lets tinker forward here on that notion.

2019 potential balanced attack lines if all players work out and earn NHL spots.

Kane Bo BB
Dahlen Elias JV
Sven Lind Gadjovich
Goldy Guadette Granlund
Labate & Guance extras

Sedins retired. LE & Sutter traded for D or picks and prospects.

Group to grow with each other as new generation. It has become a young mans game with speed now.

But in that group you will have 3 20yro; 6 21-24yro; 2 26yro & a 28yro.

Gadjovich-Gaudette-Virtanen
Labate-Sutter-Lockwood/Lind

Pillar is literally the only player I like on the jays.

I wish western Canada got an MLB team, the Jays are really lame.

- Crazybagoham

Pillar is the worst hitter in baseball. HE swings at everything. He's a rally killer.

I'm liking these line better. No Sven is a plus......let's leave the 4LW open for now, shall we?
