Wait, sorry, saw Galchenyuk. OK, move him out to LW on Kane's line. You now have a really good top 6—assuming Schmaltz continues to grow. Galchenyuk is gonna play LW somewhere if not Chicago or Montreal. - John Jaeckel
Is there a legit chance to land Gallchenyuk?
I know there is questions about his knee but if healthy he skill set is great.
AA has to be included I hope going the other way.

So where do u think AA lands?
MTL - Gal
Buff - Kane
other - ? - Hawkster
If we look at the Panarin and Hjalmarsson deal that gives us some idea what to expect from a possible Anisimov deal. Cap flexibility, youth, speed and term while taking on quality.
E Kane doesn't like likely fit (no term). Galchenyuk could if he signed for less than AA. |

A jab at my post on the last blog? Hilarious..really funny...speaking as a woman. - pdx2ord
Nope. E. Kane has had several run-ins since being in Buffalo with the same woman. Including shoving her in a bar. Allegedly. That is what my post was about.

OK, thanks for clarifying, even if I find joking about alleged violence against women a bit . Yeah, he has been accused of and/or charged with a sexual assault and with physically harassing three women. Didn't see it was the same woman involved in both situations. It's my belief that our FO PR team would be crazy to take that risk given that locker room leadership isn't going to change that kind of behavior, if true. When you combine that with the stories of his douchenozzlery in the locker room, well...
But, I understand some disagree and think his offense is worth the risk. |

I don't think the Hawks have a chance to get Galchenuk ,and I don't think they want Kane front the Sabres. If you belief all the reports about AA going to Vegas, and Kruger as well, what do we get back from them?I like to see AA stick with us,and move him to the 3rd line. |

1) I have heard this is POSSIBLE, but far form a sure thing
2) Where are you hearing this?!
(lots of crazy, bs, speculated poop on "the cyber" this summer turning into "legit conversations" See: Oshie, TJ)
The Shaw thing may be legit but there is a serious dollar issue there, not to mention I think John McDonough was glad to see him go. - John Jaeckel

RLT ... heard no less than three times at the draft that #Blackhawks are looking to bring Sharp back on a cheap Campbell-like 1-year deal.
Brian HedgerVerified account @BrianHedger now13 hours ago
The latest to mention Sharp & #Blackhawks to me was the same source who told me about Granato getting hired as third assistant.
Brian HedgerVerified account @BrianHedger now13 hours ago
Less certain on this Sharp stuff than I was on Granato, but there is a lot of buzz about it circulating. We'll see.
Peggy KusinskiVerified account @peggykusinski now15 hours ago #Blackhawks bring back Brandon Saad ... keep your ears and eyes open for other familiar faces they may be eyeing... Sharp? Shaw?

Just because you THOUGHT I was joking please don't assume I was. It was my way of saying I don't want him for that and other reasons.
BTW. I am the father of two daughters. So, I don't find a damn thing funny about violence against women. Or anyone for that matter.
Aside from players on the Blues, of course. |

Shaw? Not at his cap hit. Sharp would be fine on cheap one year deal to play on the 3rd line? Sure. He would have value there. |

If a player signs a major junior contract, they cannot play in the AHL until 20, it's an agreement all the leagues have. If they never play for a major junior team, like college players, players from over seas, then they can play in the AHL if they are 18 at the start of the AHL season. - Antilles

I am all about speed. BUT, great hands and hockey IQ with strong skating, not necessarily the quickest, but quick enough is huge. I love the Breadman's game. I am sorry Saad is not as scary of a player to me. When you can open up the ice horizontally at the NHL WOW!
Yes you need speed on your team but not every player needs to be blazing. Tarasenko is slow. But get him the puck to score. Jagr and Hossa both became slow but their strength on their skates, hands, vision and hockey IQ allowed them to overcome their loss of speed. Changing speed and direction with or without the puck trumps straight line speed everday of the week.
Speed is important because it can get to the open spaces the game tries to create. The game is on ice so anything at high speed that causes skate blades to change directions is huge. McDavid is amazing because he has speed in all aspects of his game.
The best dman to play the game--Lidstrom was slow as dirt even back in the 90s when he was drafted. But he saw the game faster than anyone else so he did not need to be so fast. Kane is not that fast of a player either. He has some flaws in his skating but I know of no player who sees the ice as well as him, except maybe Panarin. - BluemanGuruu
Great points & very much true. Brouwer would get knocked for his skating, but when there was a breakdown & things got real, it wasn't uncommon to see him first or second man back.
Knowing where to be on the ice will make you look faster than the guy who doesn't. |

LOL - same, and I apologize for the misunderstanding on my part. When the other guy laughed, I thought it was meant as a joke.
All good and go Hawks!

So Moose got a QO. Huh. Wonder what the plans are for Jurco? Is he just a bottom 9 energy guy or what? - z1990z
Under Babcock in almost 100 games, Jurco had a .54 PPG playing on the 3rd line. Under Blashill, he was bounced around or used on a low event line, effective in shot suppression but not much offense. It's hard to say what he'll be on the Hawks. |

....And a consequence of leaning so heavily on the same handful of players every year has caught up as all are older now.
That's why Toews can't be asked to puck hunt every shift and Keith/Seabrook need help on special teams. - Al
Agreed. It's really the younger & newer guys that need less of the maint days and a little more ice work. A few guys (vets) recently had complained about so few practices and not knowing the system. Has to be a better effort incorporating guys and getting them productive enough to take some in-game mileage off the core.
Not talking Tikhonov-level practices though... |

We can agree to disagree. I'm of the mind that IF a person is prone to violence against women (or men, for that matter), that doesn't change without a LOT of counseling, etc., if ever.
I hope Dreger is right, for Kane's sake and for those around him. |

Getting Sharp or Shaw would be a step back.
Don't do it. |

Per Scott Powers in his Athletic article:
Blackhawks have made Qualifying Offers to:
- Pokka
- Rasmussen
- Jurco
- Gustafssos
Did not QO:
- Latta
- Valleau
- Helgesen - matt_ahrens
Boo on not giving Latta a qo he's better then 3 of the 4 we qualified. Can they sign him to a cheaper deal now? Because if you get qualified you have to have a 10 percent raise? |

Can they wim with:
20-19-14
Fortin-Schmaltz-88
Hino-Chucky-Hartman
Kero-Dauphin-Rass
Desi & 22 basically uselesss
2-Murphy
7-Kempny
Ruutu-Forslin
50 & Anton
Looks like best case scernio for Bowman right now. Likely going to be much worse than this.
JMO - Goalie-33
This team doesn't make the playoffs. Incredibly small not physical at all. That 4th line and the d look awful. Good goaltending that's about it.
