Oilers & Ducks & SJ r front runners in our division.

Ducks r not going away anytime soon but still not a cup threat IMO
SJ can do as well as another cup run or not.
All in all the boat we r in will be much more fun in 2-3yrs at most in my estimation

Need a shutdown top 2 D & good veterans that fit in

The kings with and without quick weren't that different ...he may not be the Same guy who won cups ....or maybe their D core is not as effective

Maybe it's 5 from the pacific ....maybe the hawks losing panarin and hjarm is finally the straw that breaks them ...I like the team we have now more than last year so I'm optimistic

You can be optimistic but believing beating out the Hawks for playoffs spot is ballsy.

As far as Quick he missed most of the season with injury. So coming back so late just wasn't able to get into rhythm. The Kings without Quick in form are like the Habs without Price. Thus don't bet on them missing playoffs is all. I don't see Kings as a Cup contender but a non-playoff team isn't a sure bet is all.

So that's what the Flames need to beat out to make the show and not give up a lotto pick to the Isles. Remember when Hamonic got injured and Isles missed the playoffs after making them finally the season before.

I'm not saying they are a playoff team just not deadbeats and will challenge taking points away from Flames that make it harder for them to make playoffs. You see the theme. Saying not concerned is overestimating your chances in a division that's gotten tougher.

Ducks start the season without lindholm vatanen ...no Theodore ...and an aging bieksa ...I think they will have to pour it on in the second half to make up for lost ground

Sharks have some decisions to make with their free agents ...

Yotes are not making the playoffs ...they are building towards something but aren't a playoff caliber team

Meh I like the team I have right now and even if they just brought stone back to play with Brodie I'd be confident ...add hamonic is just a bonus

Once we got rid of Wideman and moved chiasson off the top line we were one of the best teams in the league ...not saying we are now ...but the changes helped them play a lot better

I think smith will surprise you ...guy stole a lot of games the yotes had no business winning ...it's not easy for a goalie to stay focused all year when your team is a train wreck

I love everything about the Flames roster except for goaltending. Get Burkie out of there. Whenever he is associated with a team, they can't solve the crease.
Here's to hoping Smith can hold the fort until Gillies gets his feet wet. Theres always a chance he goes Matt Murray

no one here even the Pom Pom crowd has any expectation other then a lotto pick for the Canucks. The talk will be about compete to be bubble for development over sink to guarantee top picks in rounds 2 on.

But it's amazing how confident you are in the Flames as a shoe in for the playoffs. I'm sure Vantel will have something special to say later about that.
