Same here, for the right price anyway. - breadbag
I'd love to see them pickup Bonino, but I don't think the money is going to be there...
Bowman seems to be finally getting it this summer and moved early and quickly...
hoping this continues with a couple more really nice moves regarding Krugs and AA...

Tom Pyatt 2yrs/$1.1MM per with OTT
Wouldnt mind him as a bottom six C - especially at that price. |

We've talked a lot about speed and size and youth but another thing I'd like to bring up is getting the puck to the net. Shoot first mentality. I think that Hawks need to infuse a bit more of it with the loss of Hossa and the trade of Breadman. Even last year, I felt like the Hawks lacked it a bit and there was too much cute passing.
Go back to 2015. Top Hawks in terms of shots on goal.
Hossa
Sharp
Saad
Richards
then in 2016
Kane
Hossa
Panarin
Toews
This last season
Kane
Panarin
Toews
Keith
With Hossa's role being less last year, and now him leaving. Panarin gone and the trend being that Kane/Toews having to be the ones taking more of the shots on goal, things have changed. I think that was part of the sting in losing Sharp, who loved to rip some hard shots on net. I'd love to see the Hawks add (or some of the existing guys focus on it) some forwards who are not afraid to get it on net from anywhere.
For example it was some of the value of past players too.
Bickell had a great wrist shot that goalies had to respect.
Richards would attempt from anywhere.
Hossa would quick release to keep the goalies honest.
I think it might help Toews and others who score a lot of goals on rebounds or broken plays within 10 feet of the net. I feel like the Hawks tried a lot of low to high but the D struggled at hitting the net. |

Maybe Peter Holland if we end up trading Kruger we could use another Center. 5 goals in 40 games playing 4th line minutes is not terrible. |

#Blackhawks sign Anton Forsberg to a two-year deal and ink Tomas Jurco to a one-year extension. - golfbard
NMC or NTC for either deal?

I expect that is a goal for him.
Also wingers play into it. I think Schmaltz played most of his C with Kane/Panarin, and those guys while skilled weren't gonna do a lot of digging to help a C win a draw. I absolutely believe that winning faceoffs can be about everyone on the ice. You hear things, like Panarin not always knowing what the coaches wanted (language barrier) or you look at the make up a line and I think it has an effect. - breadbag
Great point. |

Hearing Joe Thornton's camp has heard from a dozen teams so far... obviously San Jose remains the top wish. But interesting week ahead... |

They're RFAs so neither qualifies for a NMC/NTC. Those only kick in at UFA age 27. |

I'm picturing a little candy jar in his office, and inside every wrapper is either a NMC or NTC. But the guys under 27 are told "you're not old enough for this candy". |

True, but 5.9m AAV. - JRoenick97
Who cares if Dubinsky has some grit? Very limited skill and grossly overpaid. Huge step backward for Hawks. |

He'd be an okay shutdown 2/3C, but not at 5.9m |

Watch for the Hawks to be interested in Dan Girardi, Tomas Vanek and Nail Yakupov when free agency opens july 1 |

Wouldn't make sense with the moves they just made. If you said this last off season though, I'd buy it. |

Career 0.58 PPG for Dubinsky vs 0.50 for Anisimov who has been on the best scoring line in the NHL for the last 2 years to somewhat inflate that career Scoring Avg. Dubinsky is not realistic, but he is a very solid player, despite crossing the line at times. |
