Hey folks...
Surprising to me that I've heard nothing about this, but what are the chances that 27 heals up and gets signed for something like 2 years at 1.5m per? |

I'm not sure 27 has much left. |

No offense ... Horst chit! Don't want him , Sharp, Campbell, Hartnell , or of like players washed up. Move on , I bet Bowman isn't looking down that road either unless he is going scrapping thru the alleys! |

I'm sure you could make a similar argument against Ford as "an original" automaker, and every other old line "original".
Except for The "Original" Pancake House that I frequent. THAT is 100% legit! It's right there in big letters on their sign!! - Cmonalready
A Portland original, as it happens. |

I think Seattle, WA would become a great hockey market. "The 12th Man" for the Seahawks, and they go crazy for their MLS and MLL teams too. Also, I wouldn't mind another Expansion Draft for a Seattle or Quebec team. It's made this off-season VERY interesting. Maybe Crawford would waive his NMC for Seattle...he seems like a Hipster-type. - EnzoD
It's actually our Captain who would seemingly love the PAC NW |

Maybe a fall back option if other things don't work out before then. Even so, I'd like to see it as an invitation to camp on a try out basis. |

None of those guys Matt, JMO,teams have made that mistake in the past ,going on laurels of the past, I bet Bowman takes a shot at Nail Yakupov hoping for Panik type Results or Kane's buddy or someone not to old. I think he is done going after guys on the way out. If all fails he will roll with kids to start. |

I agree that none of those guys should be "the plan." Stan has a lot more work to do, that's for sure. I hope he fills the rest of the roster according to the same plan; younger, cheaper, faster; but with NHL experience and talent. But it wouldn't be the end of the world for me if Sharp starts the season on the third line or if the 7th defender is Campbell or Oduya. |

I could tell you that, and I don't know if anyone has posted this, but Ulfie likes Micheal DelZotto a lot, that could be theirPanik type project on Defense, I'm okay with that . Why not ,another high pick probably just needs the right fit.
Tomas Jurco, we shred him here, but how come the kid could play for a heralded coach like Mike Babcock but can't play for a beer league coach( big hiring mistake Detroit) like what ever their coaches name is. I get it, let's just see what this kid can do after being here a summer and start fresh. Which is why they may take a look at like Yakupov and a few others.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bowman behind the scenes isn't trying to Squeeze the nuts of some of these guys agents to waive those no trade clauses. And yes, he gave them out in the first place but I bet that practice is done moving forward! |

If we have sharp cambell or odaya on are team to start the year then Stan Bowman failed at what he was suppose to accomplish. The whole plan was to get younger faster skilled and bigger, not bring back the old guard we tried that didn't work. Also if debricant, forsling, fortin hayden or any other young player with limited or no nhl experience on the starting roster bowman failed those players should be in Rockford developing. Kero and hino are borderline nhl players at best 4th line or depth forwards probably should be in Rockford also developing more. Blackhawks need balance of skill speed size and physical players so far not enough:
sadd towes x
x AA kane
panik smaltz Hartman
jurco kruger/daupin
tooto
keith murphy
kempney sebrook
x rutta
rosie
Crawford
Forsberg
Three big holes plus a couple of depth players Bowman has a lot of heavy lifting to do this summer.

The Portland Winterhawks average 6000-7000 fans per night. Third in the WHL behind Edmonton and Calgary.
That's not nothing. - BINGO!
That is nothing. Lots of CHL teams in Canada draw well especially if the teams are competitive. Regina averaged 5,500 fans - should Regina have a team? |

Nice little anecdote from someone who spent a couple of days on a golf trip with our GM. A little insight into Stan, the man.

I find it a bit funny that SB hates the salary cap. Sure he does as a GM, but before he was the GM his main job was as the capologist. |

Why don't ya give the Cup winner the #1 pick in the draft as well. - ArlingtonRob
If you look at it from the development of younger players, it would be great for the best in the draft to be picked on the best teams. They would not be wasting a few years on bad teams. It would put to rest the idea of tanking in a heartbeat. |

Players on LTIR get paid. No advantage to what you propose. - BMWChiFan
My point was that if the NHL office tried to prevent the Hawks from putting Hossa on LTIR they could still trade him to a team that is near the cap floor. It would not affect those teams at all either way.

Either way it is a constraint. Teams with deep pockets, like the Hawks, naturally would hate the cap.

I have another lower line forward name to add, heard Hawks are viewing him as an "under the radar" target. Will reveal tomorrow.
W/C, tough to play against, agitator, has some skill. Let the guessing begin (not a big name guy either) |
