I wonder how Giroux and Voracek will be producing at the time when all the prospects hit. 8+ million dollar 30 point guys? - PLindbergh31

I'm optimistic for the forward group going forward, the defense is what I'm worried about. I keep seeing pairings being posted without Amac. Do you think they're going to bury him in the AHL? I don't think they will, Flyers management values Amac a whole lot more than we do. As long as Amac is taking top minutes we won't be a playoff team IMO. I'm not so sure Hagg or any rookies are going to push Amac off the top line. Any goalie that comes in here is going to have a rough go.
I'm a patient guy and excited for the future but I do see the next couple of years as dumpster fire-ish... |

So what you are saying is you like losing and the direction this team is heading. I guess you have short memories of how bad this team has been run in the last few years. J. Williams, P. Sharp, trading JVR for L. Schenn, omg letting Vezina trophy winner S. Bobrovsky get away, oh Hartnell for Umberger was awesome, getting nothing in return for Cousins and Madsen, not resigning Jagr was a mistake, not getting Weal signed was on Hextall as he had his chance and screwed it up, trading Schenn for Lehtara an overpaid cull and two picks is dumb, signing MacDonald for long term at big bucks when the islanders waived him because he was useless. You wonder why I am pissed, how can you argue with the above. Really am I that far off?? - joegreif17
Yes.
Very far off.

I find it amusing that people who say Hextall inherited a mess, also say Holmgren was a good GM. Seems contradictory to me. Oh well.... company stooges gonna stooge. |

Well they're going to have a new power play coach so I doubt they're going to use the same scheme. But if so, they need another left handed shooter to take advantage of that space. - Baxter27
Oh I know I wasn't trying to say I hope x player who replaces Schenn on unit 1 can hit that shot. Just was always a knock I had on Schenn. Maybe not even a knock just a shot I wish he developed better as he struggled couple seasons with it. If he was money with that shot, Schenn would easily be a 30 goal scorer and his points would be even harder to make up! |

So year 11 of Hextall tenure with a 49 year Cup drought? That'll learn the naysayers. |

People cried that the Flyers had no defensive hope.
They go out an draft multiple prospects at least two of which have been talked about as having first pair potential.
People are worried about the defense.
TBH that is the least of my concerns this year..I think, one again, goaltending will be the biggest issue of course without knowing how Hexy plays out of the rest of the off season..

Hell I forgot the Lecavalier and Carle overpayments of term and cash, lol I am sure there were many more. If I could only trade Giroux and Voracek I would but no interest from any other team, overpaid bums but I will say I love how hard Voracek works. G on the other hand is a ass grabbing floater. |

I totally disagree with that part.. The core is and will be the same until they have a trade that they just cant say no to... - jak521
Ohhh they will be here, but it was so unfair to those two to have them carry the whole team. They expected them to be Malkin/Crosby.
What I kind of meant was that he wont rush into making dumb moves to contend, to try and catch the "productive years" of those two guys. |

So root for another (frank)ing team then.
No one is saying the Flyers haven't made some bad moves in the past but right now this team is 100% in a better position then they were 5 years ago.
But to say everything they do is terrible is just being a troll.
Also there is some luck that comes into winning a stanley cup. |

Let me ask you a question?
You take over a failing business. You invest a ton of money in it, make a whole bunch of changes, and in a few short years you are one of the best in that particular field... Then you kinda start to lose some of your magic. Some of the things you did in the beginning paid of handsomely in the short run, but in the long run they started to deteriorate.. You then resign and, while you had some serious success for a bit, are trending down.
Would you say you did a decent job? |

How many 25 goal forwards were there in the league last year? - MJL
Who said it was only up to 1 player to offset those goals?
More quality depth and a better ES possession game will make it likelier that guys like Read, Raffl, Weise, Filppula, Ghost and Konecny will be able to improve on their paltry goal totals from last season. Claude is due for an increase too.
That could offset all 25 of Schenn's goals before we even add any rookies to the equation.
I don't see this team taking a step back in scoring. I see them staying the same, with a chance to improve on last year. |

I wonder if G ever cracks 60 points again. Dudes a total bum. Cant even win a faceoff.
Also, I love the Lehtara (tera) trade even more since I found out he has a smokeshow of a wife.
