The big picture is what you need to look at, years down the road. The Flyers finally accepted they need to rebuild, and just didnt tank. Dont be fooled into thinking they aren't rebuilding. The team will be good in a few years, for now its still purgatory - but with the kids filtering in.

I have been a flyers diehard fan for decades but I can not take much more of this insanity. Poor Ed Snyder would not approve of this gong show and would have canned them all by now. It is great to be optimistic but you have to face reality once in awhile and get a grip on how it really is. Other than having a fantastic future defence the rest of the team is in trouble. Who will stop the puck and who will score the goals. Couter should be the 3C and shutdown man, not a 2C because he can not handle it. Plus being big man that is softer than butter.

Does it really matter if he is labeled 2c or 3c.


You say the defense is good but the rest of the roster is trouble....yet they just took the top ranked player in the draft at number 2 overall. They have the MVP of the SHL coming over this season. Both Giroux and Gostisbehere are another year removed from big surgeries. They should have another step forward from Konecny and Provorov.

You talk about "i can't take the insanity anymore" but yet they are doing things completely different then in the past. Either you just like to troll or your not understanding what is going on.

I'm completely on board with anyone who said he left a pile of poop in Hextall's lap. He did without question. I've liked a good deal of what Hextall has done. He's made some glaring mistakes that impede the process. No GM is mistake proof. I'd give Hextall a solid B+ when it comes to the draft. Free agency, and trades is where he's been pretty bad so far.

Frodo is the worst. Let's see what Frodo does:

1) Puts on the ring after a wizard explicitly tells him not to, and gets stabbed. Aragorn, Glorfindel, Gandalf, and Elrond had to combine their powers to save him.
2) Decides he's going to Mount Doom alone even though he doesn't know the way, until Sam follows him.
3) Gets Boromir killed while everyone goes looking for him.
4) Decides to trust a guy who tried to eat his uncle and wants to murder him as his guide after leaving honorable people who actually knew the way.
5) Gets tricked by said cannibal and stung/trapped by a spider. His servant, who he had tried to dismiss, ends up having the hindsight to remove the ring before...
6) He is taken captive by orcs working for the the evil deity that wants the ring, again being rescued by his servant (the only one in the trilogy who willingly gave up possession of the ring)
7) He decides, at the end of the journey, that he can't make it, and has to be helped physically by his servant.
8) With the chance to throw it in, he caves and decides to give up.
9) After having someone else do the job for him, and with the volcano erupting, he gives up (again) until Sam urges him onward to a safer location.

Sam is the true hero of the story.

Dream on buddy buy yes there is always hope. Schenn was not a prospect and until I see results from all these hot prospects I am not buying it. Another major screw up I forgot to mention was the Bryzgalov contract, we all know how that ended. No one team in the nhl has made this many screw-ups, albeit they were trying hard to win. Just did not work out.
