Well I take my hat off to you too sir as you are one of the few with any insight into what is actually happening in Philadelphia. I can not believe that Flyer fans are accepting the Schenn trade as a good one, it is not. It will just like trading JVR for Luke Schenn or worse. Good job man.

The reality to it is like most trades are, there is good and bad to it. The trade weakened the Flyers for the near and immediate future. Regardless of what anyone says, losing a player like Schenn takes offense away from a team that struggled offensively last year and it makes it harder for the new additions to improve the team offensively moving forward. However 2 first round picks for Schenn is a hard deal to pass up. If the Flyers are fortunate to hit on both or at least one of the picks, that would extend the Flyers window further of having a young player. With the Flyers not ready to contend anytime soon that would be a good thing.

Schenn is a nice player but hextall wants to start turning this thing around 5 vs 5. The core all have their struggles with that and I think hexy wanted to change the mix. I would've been ok if it were simmonds traded but the flyers obviously hold him higher. G and jake are just not going to be dealt yet

I think that's a mistaken read on the situation. I don't believe that Hextall was shopping Schenn or looking to trade him. He just got an offer that he couldn't turn down.

I think I may be most excited for Sanheim, whenever he does make the jump.
