IMO... Scandella is barely a solid 2nd pairing guy.

IMO... Shatts is a 1st pairing on a mediocre team or a 2nd pair guy on a good team.

But I cannot see us trading for Scandella AND signing Shatts.

I'd much rather give up a little more to get Brodin or Dumba because I am NOT SOLD on Scandella AT ALL.


I'd much rather do a deal like Kane for Scandella and Rielly/Olofsson/Palmqvist.

Maybe add in a way to swap Bogo for Pommer with Larsson/Zemgus.

Bogos become a whipping boy around here (some legit reasons), but he's not as bad as he's made out to be.

A lot of these rumors add up to me in this way.

I believe Wild and Sabres are talking, but no trade is forthcoming until the Shattenkirk saga is over. If we land him, we are out on Minnesota deal, but if we don't, perhaps something is ready to go with the Wild.

If that's the case, he will be traded now or at the deadline. I don't see how you can be certain of this.

This would make me questions Botterill's cap acumen and make me wonder if he was paying attention to his own team who had one high paid dman AND won a cup without him.

Adding Shatts would give us 2 highly paid dmen and limit our ability to supplement our centers with scoring wingers.

It only makes sense if a team out there covets Risto and is making us an offer we can't refuse.
