I'm a little surprised if this is true. - JetpackJesus
Really?
That is surprising
Idk if he'd wanna come here, but I wouldn't hate the idea
Would definitely like him to show Jack, Sam, Kane, etc about how to dedicate themselves to the gym
If he's not a Vet that these kids will listen to,
then there just isn't one out there
Kane-Eichel-Jagr
and move Sam to 3C?

Dr Strangelove has a 96 on Metacritic, but it's old and B&W, so it's bad, right? |

A defensemen who's very good, and will be very good for 4/5 years, doesn't fit a team who's biggest need is puck moving D men?
I seriously am confused .
If this was another winger I'd agree totally - sbroads24
Aren't Beaulieu & Antipin considered "puck movers" though?
And J Botts considers Risto & McCabe puck movers based on his interview
How many puck movers do we need? |

The more and more I read about shatts from WSH fans and analysts and correspondents. The less I want this guy. Minutes went downhill fast in crunch time. Lacking 5v5 game. All paid for offense.
Just screams Ehrhoff. - JVince11
Now ask some StL fans...
they'll say the same thing
Good offensively, bad defensively
He blows in his own end |

6 puck movers!
If all they're doing is moving the puck then the other team doesn't have it!

Burying someone in the minors barely saves any $$$
Yeah, u get that 950k off the books,
but then what's the Cap hit of the guy u are bringing up to replace him?
At best u end up saving like 300k
But it's usually even less than that - jdfitz77
It knocks off a little more than a million dollars (1,025,000 to be exact). And we don't need more cap space. We have 25 million this year. It's pointless to get more cap this year, at the cost of cap down the road. |

Bury a guy in the minors saves one million...the player replacing him makes $750k. So saving $250k does nothing but create turmoil with veterans on the team. Best to just buy him out |

It's not about saving money today, its about saving money in year 3 (or 5 if its bogo) by buying out a player this year. When we need cap, we will have less due to buyouts.
I don't care about turmoil with the vets. You play as bad as Moulson and Ennis, send a message to all the players; "you'll be down in the A." You don't sariface your future, to please vets that wont be here long term. |

Then you get a reputation as a franchise that doesn't treat their vets well |

I guess the number went up a little
Regardless...
burying someone doesn't really save much on the Cap when u consider u have to bring someone up to replace him
Buying someone out does make sense in certain (not all) situations |

I don't think that is really the case when looking at the players we would be sending down. |

Again, the cap savings is meaningless this year. We have plenty of space. Its about the future savings we would have by not having dead money on our books from buyouts. |

At least you guys are players in the game. Try being a coyotes fan. Not sure why the Sabres are in on Shatty though. Cap space is gold in today's NHL |

Who are u gonna bury Moulson for?
Pretty sure he had more goals than all the kids we brought up combined last year... and their combined games were double what Moulson played
U need to take a look at what message that send in the locker room
Especially to other Vets
The message it sends to u or I doesn't matter
It's naive to think that kind of stuff doesn't affect the locker room
Both here, & in Rochester

Having "offensive" guys is great when we have the puck
Not so much when the other team is in our zone though
Often results in goals against,
which I'm not a fan of |

Probably about 50/50 here as far as those who want him & those who don't
Hard pass from me
Super overrated imo |

The only guy I don't want on the roster next year is Gorges. Moulson is fine, Bogo is fine (for now) |

I think the message to the vets is obvious, play as bad as moulson, go take a trip down the I90.
Give others time on the power play, I think their number would be pretty close to Moulson's. |
