I like the Scandella pick. Good luck to ennis. If he can put it back together he might still have a few solid years of productivity, but it's a gamble at this point. Either way, I like the trade |

Let's rotate it, just like the old days. I'm sure Kaner would like a turn. - PrinceChill
Eh, if we didn't have Eichel, I'd say rotate it. But you 100% have to slap the C on his jersey at this point. |

For the poster saying we got slower that's not true
Pommer while older than when he was here last is a good skater and won't have problems keeping up.
Ennis is fast east to west but not north and south. - Stripes77
I also like Pommer on the PK. As for Scandella...will he be "Scanner", "Scansies", "Scanzo", or just "Scans"? |

Face value doesn't look amazing, but you got rid of two guys who are either overrated or just unable to help you much for different reasons, and acquired a solid defender.
Good deal
How long till Garth starts comparing the move to Neely for Pederson? Botts is a genius omg!! Best gm ever! - HB77
The Sabres got the two best players in the deal as it stands right now, IMO.
If Ennis regains form it may hurt, sure, but he was awful last year and cant stay on the ice. Foligno is good, but will be overprice considering he is at minimum 2.5 per year. |

I don't know how he did it, but GMJB managed to trade away probably my two least favorite players in one go. What a boss. |

Love this trade.
I really like Foligno, but it sounds like got an impact player, and that's more than I can say about what we gave up
Welcome back, Pommer! |

Gotta love the Wild for always being a willing trade partner for the Sabres. - PrinceChill
Serious question....
have they ever really gotten the better end of a trade with us...?
Chris Stewart for a 2nd? Nope
Moulson, McCormick for Torrey Mitchell, and 2 2nd rounders? Nope
Pominville and a 4th for Hackett, Larsson, 1st, and a 2nd? Maybe. We got Zadorov and Cornel with the picks.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. Still have a crap ton a cap space. - ImThatGuy
Not talking about the cap space. Talking about the roster space |

I was just kidding about captaincy rotation. That was just a continuation of the "Bott to the Future" theme. I despised it when it was going on.
Give the C to Eichel or ROR and be done with it for a long time. |

I honestly think his arbitration ruling was why we decided to trade him. 2.5 is (frank)ing nuts for Foligno. Didn't Vanek get that much just last year?
Watch, we are bringing back Vanek now because of Pomminville, they're also best friends. I'm not opposed if he's at around 2 million. |

You trade Foligno to get a top 4 D-man 10 out of 10 times in our situation. Dumping Ennis was icing on the cake. |

Agreed, and have wondered why he gets the rep of a fast player. He's quick. |

Yeah. ROR is a perfect A, though.
I mean, I'd consider McCabe and Ristolainen as the C before ROR. ROR has shown just as many character issues as Kane has yet no one bats an eye. |

Maybe some Wild fan would debate you, but I wouldn't. I guess the primary counter argument would be "where did these trades get us?", but I like how we did in all of them. To quote something, "I'm on your team!" |

Agree. I think I maybe too excited for pommer, but he'll be a nice 3rd line wing for Larsson, good leadership and PK skills which we desperately needed |

You get a top 4 ( probably a #4) D man for wingers. Take it all day long.

Find a good LWer to play in the top 6 and this team is pushing for a playoff spot...
Who knows what a new up tempo system will bring as well...
I am much happier today than I was at the end of the season.
Not to mention Kane is still here |

Obviously we are out on Shattenkirk. However, what is with all the buyouts today? I guess it was wrong that they had to be bought out yesterday? I feel like Gorges could get bought out now - we actually have 8 NHL d-men, with Falk, Fedun and Guhle in the wings.
I assume we will be quite quiet tomorrow, maybe a bottom 6 forward is all. |
