Scandella is the win in this trade for sure, but I think you under-value Pommer a bit. At the very least he will help our PK which was atrocious last season.

Your eyeballs are lying to you, Pommer can still skate, he kills penalties and he can man the point on the power play and he can be a solid leader in the locker room. this trade is a win for GMJB.

My point is Pommer had 47 points last year, and probably takes the role that Gionta was playing. His cap is higher than it should be but does not handicap the team in any way. He is not the focal point of the trade, Scandella is. 3 years at 4M is not bad.

AND, we did not give up a 1st, a 2nd, or a good prospect. I like the trade. Even if Ennis finds his magic again, I like the trade

This was a fantastic trade. Clear and simple. And I agree that I would rather have Pomminville than Ennis

If McCabe got traded Botteril really would be shaking things up. Personally I like McCabe's game, and I think taking him out would hurt the defense that we're trying to make better. Plus, McCabe played for Housley at the WJC and I would think PH would have some say as to who he wants on his team.
