im indifferent. There are times where his Napoleon complex and his unwillingness to accept the fact that hes no longer a 40 goal scorer drives me nuts.

Having said that, he still brought a decent amount of value 5v5 and would allow them to keep the younger guys in rochester, at least for the year. given what's out there, it may be the right move.


Edit: i forgot we have pominville now, so maybe he doesnt make a ton of sense unless its a massive pay cut

Same. He still plays a competent game, I just wonder if we'd be shutting the door on one of Bailey/Baptiste/Nylander if they are in fact ready to go by signing him. Time will tell.

I don't see us adding another d but I would think we'd have to sign or trade for a LW. Eichel needs a sniper, he should have had 50% more assists last year if his passes were finished. Vanek makes so much sense here, but doesn't look like we're interested

Neither one of those teams got better today IMO, Justin Williams is wasting another 2 years of his career by going to Carolina. Dale Tallon said yesterday that the Panthers will be very aggressive first thing out today, what did they do ? Vrbata ? The Kings should have grabbed Williams and Cammy.

I notice a lot of mock lineups have Reinhart on RW. This team needs three lines that can score and Reinhart is only going to fulfill his playmaking potential at center. When I see Larsson as the 3rd line center, it's no good.

Bruins GM Don Sweeney said that Boston is prepared to match any offer sheet for David Pastrnak.
Boston has plenty of cap space, so that's certainly within Sweeney's power. Pastrnak broke out in 2016-17 with 34 goals and 70 points in 75 contests, so he's certainly in a good position as a restricted free agent. That being said, he had a more modest 53 points in 97 contests over his first two seasons, so his short resume might give the Bruins a moment pause if Pastrnak is seeking a big, long-term contract. A bridge deal might end up being a compromise solution here.
