Ya, I agree. I don't get the hate for Sutter. He is a good 3C. That's it. His contract is hefty tho. But at this stage of our team, does it really matter? Bonino scores just as much as Sutter. He just got 4+ as a 3C. Nice player, but severely overrated cause of the team he played for and players he played behind. He was well insulated in Pitt. - storm88
The hate is unfounded & his contract is the excuse.
He pulls his weight but the others don't in general. |

I think King has decent offensive play, can cycle the puck and finish some plays. I've suggested him as a Sedin linemate in the past because of this. He was a pretty good player in the AHL as a scorer.
As much as I'm not a big Dorsett fan, mostly because he picks fights for no reason then gets his ass kicked, I do think he is a legit NHLer based off his skills alone. King less so but much more effective than sestito, who I would put in that 1trick pony catagory.
I would have to look for some evidence, but as I'm sure you are aware not everything in the NHL translates very well to a stat. - belcherbd
I was just thinking that we might be able to fetch a few picks for Dorsett at the TDL he has excelled in the playoffs before |

With our current state of affairs i'd call players assets while the prospects develop.
Future TDL's & drafts r what the doctor ordered.
In 3-5yrs prolly many currently here r gone. |

JV Burmistrov DD could be very fun if JV can prove he has matured.
If DD gets injured again call ups can help eg Labate |

Coaching was not going to change our teams growth or success.
Stop gap was all it was....a delaying action.
They r gone & its a new day. |

Maybe Burr trade inspired you but DD is not a smart player like him.
When DD's value was higher JB tried to trade him but there were no takers. He takes dumb penalties and his hits have no impact. So doubt any playoff team will want him now in new need to score NHL.
DD really is taking up a roster spot like Higgins was and should get sent down. He'll do a lot more good leading a young Comets group and whipping them into NHL level work ethic.
That opens a development spot on Canucks roster to pump up value of reclamation player or train a prospect. |

Unlike some here i havent given up on Virtanen yet. I remember lots of power forwards taking years to figure it out before they made it. Does Virtanen deserve a spot on the opening day roster, yes in Utica . I think that a full season in the Ahl will cause him to focus better on being a professional and giving what it takes to make the big show. I do believe expections need to be tempered as to his potential but he could one day be a useful piece of the puzzle. If some need reminding of the struggles of power forwards rememer the paths Guerin, Bertuzzi ,
even Shanahan went through early in their careers. - Tigersmyle
yep....said the exact same thing many times.
after 4 years the isles gave up on bertuzzi and made the trade to van. |

I'm afraid his injury could scare any takers away. We're likely stuck with him. |

I liked the energy he brought to the 4th line making hits, but I'm not sure if he has any hockey sense. |

The disappointing 2016 TDL he was on the list with bust Prust; can't skate no more Higgins; jack ass Virbata; and getting burned Hammer. |

Burrows played up and down the lineup.
Good pk.
Great energy player.
DD i don't dislike, but he's not versatile, hands of stone.
No comparison imo. |

Why so they can lose by all the dumb penalties he takes. DD is not a smart player and doesn't hold a candle to Burr's value. |
