Wow I can't believe Toronto signed Marleau to that contract at 37, he turns 38 on September 15th....WTF
At least when Benning signed Eriksson to a six year deal he was 30 and just had a 30 goal 63 point season. - LeftCoaster

I was humouring you actually. The fact we've had 2 riots. Here I am going along with you trolling us and you just can't seem to follow along. - storm88
My apologies. I have actually liked what you guys did yesterday. You guys signed cheap short term deals for guys you can trade at deadline for picks. I like it. |

Whether its Marleau or Eriksson what they did in the past matters not.
They got contracts for now & later & how they perform then does matter. |

I do wonder who will score more over the course of their respective contracts...
LE
or
Patty
... I would go out on a limb and say Patty will score more in a Leafs uni than LE will in a Canucks uni... It will be close since we will likely have LE for 2 more seasons than TO will have Patty. |

Eriksson's production fell off the map because our team sucks, Marleau on the other hand will have good young talented offensive players to play with. I'd definitely expect Patty's production to be higher until we get better quality players. |

He's pretty damn hard to knock off the puck.
Can you honestsly say that about LE?
Does he lack that fire we love to see in hockey?
YES. Absolutely.
But if your assertion that Marleau is a bigger wussy than LE ... I am sorry...
No matter how much LE practices... He's fricken 2 ply. |

green seems pretty smart from what Ive seen of him in interviews. He has key areas he wants to address that are a thinking coaches signature.
Its said of him he gets more out of what he has in a player. Good sign.

Again he was scorer in Jr & a 3rd liner for a stacked NYI team at C.
He knew how to adapt & did it well. No doubts about smarts n savvy here.
We r gonna luv him.
Coach Q was a so so player but similar in nature. |

Burm: Yes, if he has a good season.
Weirdcoc*: Probably not, but theres a chance still. The return would be little.
MDZ and Nilsson: Not this year, but next year they could.
Gagner: No. Again not till his last year I would imagine.
