This - more than most other things, I'd really like to have some insider knowledge as to whether or not the Sabres were in on this or not? Did Botterill not like him as a fit (analytics/contract/otherwise) or was the cost too much? The latter would seem odd but for someone who is clearly making an effort to improve the AHL club, he might value those 2nd and 3rd round picks much higher than fans do.

Who knows what his opinion of Offer Sheeting is, but we dont have a 3rd next year and if we trade our 2nd, it removes us from attempting the offer sheet.

Ah yeah, I forgot that we just lost our 3rd in the MIN deal... Maybe we did offer a 2nd and 4th but NJD beat us on that aspect. Although I would still think that with MOJO's $ and term he would have been a good move but I am not up to speed on his numbers.
