2. either girgens or larsson will probably be traded, esp if gionta comes back

3. there is chatter of maf plus for lehner plus in a trade

4. kane has 5 year 30 mil contract on table, kane camp wants 3 years 21 mil so expect a 4 year deal in the middle (say 6.5 per)

5. bots wants cheap vets on 1 year deals for bottom half of roster or kids with upside

6. ducks had an offer for ROR on the table, Bots did not counter offer and politely declined

Ducks offer for a 7.5 man when they are a known budget teams seems like a stretch no? Especially with Getz, Rackell, Kesler, and Cogliano down the middle.

From LV: MAF, Perron, Theodore

To Buffalo for: Lehner, larrson, Bogosian and a 2018 1st Rd pick

Perron is 29 and only has one year left on his contract at 3.75. not someone that make sense for LV to keep. Perron would slide into our too 6, solidify our LW.

Theodore is a long shot to get, but maybe LV takes a flyer on Bogosian and is enticed by the 1st rounder.

Sabres are absolutely a playoff team with this trade

MAF 3.02 GAA and a .902 S% last year on the Stanley Cup team

Yep, we have a bunch of centers, lv needs centers with some term left. Our LW situation isn't great right now, Perron would be the final piece we need this off season​, as I think we've done enough on D.

Agreed, maybe Lehner for MAF would entice LV to include Theodore though? And, if we think ullmark is the LT answer (Matt Murray like), a MAF/Johnson combo would be okay for a year

I agree, some of those playoffs a few years back he was just awful and cost the Penguins big time. Not sure why MAF is getting so much love. If he wasn't picked 1st overall and was just a late 1st early 2nd would he be? Again perception vs reality
