I think there's a better chance he gets signed. It seems maybe he and his agent might not want to chance the FA market which hasn't been a bull market this year not to mention Kane has issues and has a tendency to get beat up on the ice. It might be smart to take a nice offer from the Sabres but who knows.

'05/'06 sabres did have peters and thorburn for less than half the games played that season...which is rather insignificant, but still, they were on the team...

what they also had were some very gritty players in the likes of McKee, griere, goose, Dumont and mair
